This should get every Isles fan boiling. Are fans suppose to rally around Garth for this?

Like I always say. Snow isn't too bright. Anyone who had half a brain can see through this BS. Facking joke. The guy is a joke.

The same as the rest of you. Agree with his comments but also feel his anger is perhaps a bit misdirected, especially considering it's likely been building from 'other issues'.

One point to consider. There have probably been tons of times Garth would have liked to tee off like this but the NHL fines you for saying pretty much anything. In this case, the IOC has no jurisdiction and he can be a lot more frank.

He is a clown. He was crying when Okposo was left off and now he is crying because JT got hurt

Truth be told, if we have a top 5 pick, I think we should look for the most talented sniper we can find. We have defensemen coming and drafting one who won't be ready for 4 more years won't help. I'd rather we find a kid who might be able to join the team and score.
Outside of JT, Okposo, Nelson and Strome, we're severely lacking in offensive talent and since they aren't lining up to sign here as UFA"s, we may need to start considering adding another forward.

It would have been nice for Garth to go off a little though after the Vanek goal was taken away. I'm more looking for him to not let the season fall apart in Nov or bring in guys like Regin or PMB.

Yeah, the comments are odd in that he sounds like someone who just found out they wouldn't be compensated. I think there's a bit of projecting here, but as I said, he can go off without a fine, so why not.

I think this team should draft nothing but defenseman for the next two yrs with their first pick . I'm serious. Unless you have a shot at a elite forward prospect

Not rocking the boat has done wonders. Fighting for your team that got robbed of a win is not rocking the boat. Better for Garth not to say anything about JT's injury. He lost the right when he let the season fall apart.

Sounds harsh but when you think about it there's some truth to it. Look how we all just reacted to his quotes. Really not too smart.

Would be nice to get an impact forward with the Dmen in the system on the way. Still should go for the best player available though.

I'm a little surprised Garth did not go off on Ted Nolan.

Um... Oh wait... You're a Sabres fan and you don't know the pick is top ten protected and can be either this years or next?
- Cptmjl

Sorry it is too quick to assume...you’re right… your management would give us a top 10 pick in 2015... that makes more sense. Let's defer a pick from a weaker draft.

Ok jackass. What if management felt we could be a much stronger team next yr. Traded or signed a decent goalie and a couple top 4's instantly making us a strong team which is all it would take maybe less with the addition on one of our excellent defensive prospects and we had a shot at second or third overall in this yrs draft? Possible. You'd trade that when theres a chance you might be picking 15th in a stronger draft whether it's strong or not? Top 3 in any draft is better than the crap shoot you get in the 15 range. I'm no fan of Snow in fact I don't like the guy but it isn't going to take much to right the ship. Besides the fact it couldn't have been more evident after reading your post that you didn't have a facking clue what you were talking about.
Also, I'd be more worried about your team being a giant pile of shat for some time. Keep fooling yourself thinking it's going to be a two yr rebuild. Go back to your thread and stop trolling when you're a fan of a team that will be perpetually batting for first overall for a while.

Sucks about Tavares... He's an amazing player and a class act. At least the Isl's will get a better first rounder this year... Oh wait...

This just isn't the year for the Islanders... one thing after another. Vanak trade is really coming back to hurt more and more....

- butch5469

your lack of understanding how the Isles pick is top ten protected is amusing.

Go troll people who don't understand the game, you'll find them in Dee's blog.

and if the Isles have a better year next year, it could be a 15th overall pick, or maybe worse.

Go troll elsewhere.

I think the thought there was whether the higher pick in a weak draft is better than a lower pick in a stacked draft. I think it could be a tough decision depending how high the pick is this year.

Snow will need to take a good hard look at where the pick will be this year, who he thinks might be available at that pick, and whether he wants to take the risk deferring it to next year. If the Isles have a good season next year (which seems more likely given some of the young talent there) and he defers, he'll look really smart. If not, it might cost him.

How much cap room are you guys looking at for next year? If you're going to hit the FA market heavy it might make sense to give this year's pick up.
