That means he reached level 2 of becoming a oilers goalie. To reach that level the have to either win 5 games for the team or stop 1000 shots or a combo of the two.

First level - get signed as a goalie for a 1yr rental deal - reward= Name stiched onto rental jersey

Second level win 5 games for the team or stop 1000 shots or a combo of the two. reward= Mask Painted

Third Level- Finish the season with a better record than the goalie you replaced
Reward =Contract talks and the fanbase creaming their pants

Fourth level- get us to the Stanley cup playoffs
Reward= multi million dollar contract awarded

Fifth- get us to the SCF's and either win or lose
Reward- Get remembered as the goalie that won or get chased out of town, because lets face it you're only the 2nd best
