best outcome from a Canadian Leafs' fan perspective:

1. Canada wins Semi 7-6. Kessel and JVR score all the US goals, and assist on the ones they don't score.

2. Canada destroys Finland for gold...this way Rask comes back depressed and poops the bed for the rest of the season. Boston can suck it.

3. US destroys Sweden for Bronze...again Kessel and JVR getting all the points, and they come back feeling pretty good about the big win for the bronze medal...but are left wanting more. Prompting them to carry the team deep into the playoffs.

I can think of 5 games this season where I felt the leafs were the better team overall based on the play I watched.

Impossible to say, I don't have photographic memory. I know that in the last 15 games I have been much more confident with their compete as a team. Might be the fact that they're still figuring out an identity and becoming a cohesive unit... I have no problem with Carlyle.

They have been playing better but I don't think effort is the reason.
Having two centres, instead of one, adding Gleason instead of Ranger has been a great help.

2. Sweden beats Finland 1-0 in a shootout. Then lose to Canada for the gold.

3. US loses to Finland in the bronze game 2-0. Rask shutout. Phil and JVR have nightmares for the rest of the season and are seen sucking their thumbs and sobbing all the time. Leafs miss the playoffs.
