with some of the injuries that have occured, i can see why the owners are not all that excited to continue to have their players participate.

I can see the owners perspective but the Olympics indirectly helps them too. And the NHLPA is pushing hard to keep participating.

I see no issue with taking either pick. I'd rather have next year's.

Feel bad for JT. This was his chance to win something big considering that won't happen as long as he's an Isle. Guys get hurt in the NHL too and I think owners are more concerned with players. If you're not from north america, winning the Olympic gold or world championship is bigger than the cup anyway. Can't blame the players.

Very interested to see how Vanek performs without a #1 center.

Vanner may disappear on you without JT and Nielson. He'll likely be fine.

Turns out, Matt Duchene was not scratched.
He was injured.....By Sandis Ozolinsh!!!

Apparently Ozolinsh wanted retribution for the Avs trading him all those years ago. This was his way of saying F@#k you!!!

CONSPIRACY!

I hear the Oilers are heavily scouting the Olympics and K and will sign Sandis to a 6M/year contract. I feel bad for Scrivens since they will also sign the Latvian netminder to a deal that matches Lundquivts. Mac T will indeed be bold.

Yeah....Ted Nolan decided to coach Latvia and do a fine job and lead his team to scare Team Canada in the Quarterfinals all as a ploy to get back at the Icelanders.

And it's not like injuries wouldn't be happening every day in the NHL.
