Hitler messed up big time when he got Finland and the Soviets as enemies. They also got pwned relatively in Yugoslavia. Once he had Western Russia against him, the Allied powers were going to win.

The only the USA did was save us from being indebted to commies

- Morris

"Should we maybe drive Russia back to their own borders? and out of Berlin in particular?"

"Nah. I mean, what's the worst that could happen?"

I'll give the States a bit more credit than that for their role in WW2...though they weren't the "sole" reason the Nazi went down like it is often portrayed in Hollywood.

I went to Europe on a WW2 historical tour in 2009....amazing place. Saw some poop that put things in perspective.

I don't really know how I'd be able to keep composure if I was to do a tour of one of the camps. I have a hard time not shedding tears every time I watch Band of Brothers when the veterans have their moment before the episode.

edit: I really want to visit Normandy and also retrace my Grandfather's path he took during WWII.

I know! I love it. I watch it at least once a year, usually as a build up to Remembrance Day. I didn't enjoy The Pacific much. I couldn't get behind the actors.

If Hitler hadn't broken the Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact, it would have been a very different war and Normandy would have been a very different outcome.

The US war memorial on the Beach in Normandy will drop you to your knees. Aside from the cleanliness (this "park" is immaculate), the sight of 15-20000 perfectly rowed in white crosses is as impactful as anything I have ever witnessed.

It would have been an absolute blood bath. My knowledge might be incorrect, but did he not break that pact because he wanted control over......

No, but everyone says I should have. Pussay is apparently free for Canadians in that region.

I went to Normandy, Bastogne, Berlin to look at WW2 poop. Never went to a concentration camp, that's for my next trip. Germany(again)->Poland ->Ukraine->Hungary->Slovakia->Czech Rep.->Germany in 2015.

Tropical is awesome to recharge and relax and enjoy Nature....but Europe is where it's at IMO. I got ants in my pants though and can only sit on a beach with my thumb in my ass for so many days.
Berlin is an amazing City. If you want to party, the Bar scene is amazing. If your artsy fartsy, this is one of the most modern hubs for creativity, and if you like History there is so much poop to see you can fill 3 or 4 days just walking around.
There's a parking lot with a patch of grass over the bunker bunker where Hitler killed himself. A very popular place for people to take their dogs for a piss.

It's kinda cool that Latvia beat the Swiss but a Canada Swiss game would of been alot better to watch.
