The media has decided he should be the face of great leadership. Patrick Kane has more talent. - RogerRoeper

Kane has more offensive talent. Media regardless you can look at what he does on the ice, his overall demeanor and what players say about him and make your own judgement call and from what I ve seen from him in the NHL and his junior career he looks to be a great leader. |

Never been PPG except in a shortened season.
People need to stop overrating the "Overall" argument. That's why an great winger like Taylor Hall is somehow left off of Team Canada. - RogerRoeper
So let me get this straight the only way a player is elite is if they are offensive? (frank) goalies are getting screwed here. |

Defensive side of the game is becoming far, far overrated. There's never been a time in the history of the NHl where scoring 5 on 5 is more difficult. |

I don't know if you noticed but edmonton continues to suck with their elite talent. |

It's a team game. Give me Taylor Hall anyday. One of the best wingers in the world. |

Yes cause it's the offensive teams that keep winning the Stanley cup year after year. Hockey is a complete game and you have to be able to play all facets of the game. |

Let me guess, the lame "Overall" argument? Kane is the better player. Period.
Toews is not elite. He's overrated. - RogerRoeper
One of the dumber things I've ever read. |

Offensively can't play d to save his life right now. (in fairness he's young and will learn as he goes) |

My saying Taylor Hall is a great winger is so hilarious. It's insane leaving him off the big ice for slow wingers like Kunitz/Nash.
Can you actually discuss anything or or are smileys your only way? - RogerRoeper
How does that relate to Toews? |

And Team Canada can't score. You pick the most talent. End of storey. Remember the time they brought Rob Zamuner for his defense? |

Trying to forget. Personally, whether he deserved it or not, I knew Hallsy wouldn't make it. Just how selection tends to go. This will be the last time guys like Nash and Kunitz and Bergeron get nods to go. |

They'll pick some other "Defense First" guys next time then. |

Depends how it shakes out. If they take gold no reason to change. If they don't medal, someones going to point out that NHL stratagems don't translate well to international ice. I had some pointed debates with a certain ref on here how taking Nash was a mistake. |

Nash doesn't even play good defense. His offense doesn't look great anymore.
You have to really watch bringing guys for their "Defensive Abilities" on an NHL sized ice surface, when it's an international sized rink.
Is there any chance Taylor Halls game will deteriorate on a bigger ice? very doubtful. |

Hey, I was an advocate of Halls. I was largely scorned for it. Oilers players dont get serious consideration, because they're Oilers players. |
