You do understand that he probably has nothing to do with the success or failures of his favorite team, right?

Please tell me you understand that...

Is this Killian episode not a pure example of why hockeybuzz's "home fans get more lenience in their own blogs" principle is complete bunk?

Why would their be different rules or tolerance levels on different threads?

thread...go back to your own thread we're you're free to cry about why you're the worst team in the league and why trading Ryan Miller is the answer to all of your problems.

i really don't think he does...........but don't forget, he helped the pens win the cup....in fact i think he made "the save" at the end of that game, all "van damme in sudden death" style

debateable.......i think the high draft picks the pens had were simply better at turning average players into real good players.

they also drafted a goalie, which is the biggest difference.

- sensarmy_11

Marc-Andre Fleury is mediocre at best, so that had nothing to do with it.

Look at all the good players the Pens dug up around Crosby, Malkin, Staal, and Fleury by drafting/trading, who have gotten better or were otherwise acquired during cup runs for assets the Pens had through good drafting:

Hossa
Guerin
Letang
Neal
Kunitz
Dupuis
Kennedy
Cooke
Iginla
Bennett
Jokinen
Martin
Scuderi
Niskanen
Maata
Despres

...and he moved Staal for a player who could excel at the same role at less cost in Sutter, plus some good prospects.

Most teams would take all of those guys listed on their teams somewhere, try and do the same for Oilers acquisitions over the last 7 years. Not even close.

And that's the real difference. Put Crosby and Malkin on that Oiler team and take away Hall and Nuge, and they're still no more than a fringe playoff team.

Is your point that your opinion counted for a lot when you were 4 years old because the Pens were good, then it counted for less until about 2002 when it counted for absolutely nothing because the Pens were horrendous, and now your opinion counts for a lot because they're good again?

Perhaps instead of avatars we should have bar graphs of our hockey worth next to our names...

You do realize that your stance (i.e. belittling those whose teams haven't won a Cup or done so in recent times) insinuates that you wouldn't support your own team if they hadn't had a tradition of winning Cups, thus essentially confirming what everyone is saying about you (i.e. that you are a bandwagon fan)

i agree fleury is not the greatest, but he was sensational in their cup run (and the year they lost in the finals). when fleury plays well, pens are successful, when he doesn't, they don't do much.

i'm not suggesting that the oilers gm is better or even as good as shero, but let's be honest here...........without winning the crosby lottery, no matter how many other moves thier gm made, the pens don't have another cup

Hockey worth? Let's see I've been alive for and witnessed each of my Teams 3 Stanley Cups. I've kissed the Stanley Cup, I've met Mario Lemieux and he signed my back of my jersey for me. What else could a hockey fan possibly want to accomplish?

Yeah...but the difference between us and the oilers, is that we actually made good picks. Picks that resulted in the rebuilding of a franchise, and a 3rd Stanley Cup. Not picks that continued to result in dead last place in the NHL year after year.
- Killian

Over the past five years there hasnt been a team worse at drafting than the Pens, They got lucky and handed Crosby to them, and sucked when Malkin was available.

No, bandwagon fans reside in different states than the team they actually root for. I'm actually from Pittsburgh and currently reside here. That makes me a bandwagon fan? Get at me when the Caps finally get one (which means we probably won't be talking again anytime soon)
