i also love how you claim to have been a fan in 91/92, even though in your pic you look like you're about 18 - sensarmy_11
Thank you Sens...that's the best compliment I've received in awhile.

so let me get this straight.....you were a pre-crosby pens fan, and bash a team that had multipe lottery picks, even thought that's EXACTLY how your team got good.
and again, i told you not to bother with the sens response, I already did it for you.
and besides, i already switched my fav team to a team that's better than the pens, which automatically means i know more than you....d'uh - sensarmy_11
U obviously had a hand in building your inferior team. So that means ur opinion is less valid. Boom.
We've got a collection of brilliant minds here.. |

Yeah...but the difference between us and the oilers, is that we actually made good picks. Picks that resulted in the rebuilding of a franchise, and a 3rd Stanley Cup. Not picks that continued to result in dead last place in the NHL year after year. - Killian
The pressure was on once you'd won the lottery to select Crosby. What a tense day that must have been. |

no, the difference is that you got lucky and sucked nads when crosby and malkin were available........that's the ONLY difference. |

Just so you know, Bartley might have some ridiculous posts and 99.9% of the time I disagree with him, but he is far from the biggest problem posting in the Penguin threads. It's Leaf fans and Canuck fans who think that because they are Canadian citizens they get to bash Kunitz since he was named to the Olympic team. Sure they aren't calling other posters "Gay" but they are more annoying than Glenn Healy. - Ben37
Uhhh, not sure where you get off implying that non-penguin fans have no right to criticize players on the olympic squad, but you may want to reconsider that position.
Makes you sound a bit silly.
Even if he wasn't named to the olympic team, they can bash him all they want. |

Agreed. This all makes sense.
I'd also add that just as Canada not going on to win gold is not a good argument for his exclusion, Canada currently being 3-0 (or 2-1-0-0) is not a good argument for his inclusion. - Morris
Agreed - Canada has all of the players that HAD to be on the team, debating Kunitz vs Giroux/Hall/whomever passes the time, but it wasn't going to tilt the balance of power (UNLESS Crosby and Kunitz were able to translate their production from the Pens to Team Canada). |

Without visiting the Rangers, Blackhawks and Islanders blogs, I'm assuming you guys are also going there to rant about how bad Rick Nash has been, how invisible Patrick Sharp has been, and how unproductive Toews and Tavares have been? |

wow, so you were 4 when the pens won their 1st cup, and are trying to convince people that you aren't a crosby bandwagon fan. |

Nah, come on man - Shero did a far better job surrounding his high picks with genuine talent at a low cost than any of those imbeciles running edmonton ever did. |

Did u plan your failures long-term to coincide with Crosby and Malkin at 18?? Like start planning when they were 12?
Wow. This guy is awesome! Great poster. |

debateable.......i think the high draft picks the pens had were simply better at turning average players into real good players.
they also drafted a goalie, which is the biggest difference. |

I'd have a lot of time for that argument, but he made a much stupider one:

A lot of players on the team haven't done a lot. Kunitz is among them. That's all I said. And if I personally didn't think he should make the team beforehand, what I've seen hasn't changed my mind. Bearing in mind that my picks for team Canada would have many more differences than simply Kunitz, so it's just my opinion.
Apparently that constitutes a diatribe. |
