Crosby has been playing ok. Not great. But when even his coachs are concerned about who to pair him with is an issue? He should be able to roll with anyone.
Kunitz needs to sit. He was brought specifically to play with Sid but that hasn't panned out. Crosby os still working hard and creating chances. It'll come. Put JT on his wing. |

Duchene-Crosby-Tavares.
Duchene is a North-South guy like Kunitz except better hands and speed. Tavares has great vision. |

Did anyone outside of Pitt not see this coming?
Right now IMO from what I have watched, Canada is not paying the price to try and score goals. The best scoring chance I saw in the 3rd was Carter going full speed down the wing and driving right to the net, they need to get dirtier. |

Funny that you bash the Kunitz selection and then list off things Canada needs to do that describe the exact things Kunitz excels at. |

Just IMO, but that is Kunitz's game.
And maybe it's Babcock's strategy, but watching Kunitz and Sid every night, most of their NHL goals come from right around the goal. Both have spent more time on the perimeter or higher in the slot than they do for the Pens. |

If scoresheet is your lone barometer in a 3 game sample size you are going to be misled more times than not.

Is it possible that they sit tight this year at the deadline since it hasn't worked out adding guys the past couple of seasons ? The Pens and Bruins are clearly the elite teams in the East, with Tampa (assuming a healthy Stamkos) looming as a potential darkhorse. - MadCap2008
I think last year was a success despite losing in ECF they had the pieces to win they adjusted to win they couldnt score this year they do not have the 3rd line depth needed to even make a 2 rnd run they need depth |

No way Cammalleri's cap hit fits, they'd have to move a decent sized contract to even fit Stepniak if Vokoun is likely back. - rival22
if letang can be placed on the LTIR wouldnt that clear some time and space to make some moves i know hes only a 3.5 hit if im not mistaking though the cap hits get lower as the seeson goes on when you make trades |

You'd think it would be common sense to try Tavares with Crosby for more then a couple shifts |

Letang on LTIR would give some room, but if he comes back before playoffs, they'd be over the cap.

Its a shame how badly Canadian fans are ruining this Olympics for everyone with there constant wining. It may just be that Canadian tone of voice that comes off as so insanely winey.
Not one other team fans found a scape goat and bashed their captain before the games even began. - nbartley9
What a tool.
Tone of voice? This is a message board.
Or do u mean all of the Canadians uve been interviewing?
And we bashed Crosby before the Olympics??
Fact is, our best player hasn't been our best player. Tough to win that way.
The only real issue that I heard pre games was the Kunitz selection. He never belonged on this team. But just sit him and move on. We have enough stars that his inclusion shouldn't matter much.
Are your posts always that stupid? |

While that's true, at least to this point he hasn't been getting many good looks. If Shots on goal, scoring chances and shot attempts were showing up in droves on stats sheets, we'd be hearing from the fancy stat crowd about how judgemental everyone's being. In fact even some of them are saying quite the opposite. |

In using the term 'excels at' do you mean that they're the best parts of his game, or things that he's among the best in the world at?
Honestly curious. |

Just so you know, Bartley might have some ridiculous posts and 99.9% of the time I disagree with him, but he is far from the biggest problem posting in the Penguin threads. It's Leaf fans and Canuck fans who think that because they are Canadian citizens they get to bash Kunitz since he was named to the Olympic team. Sure they aren't calling other posters "Gay" but they are more annoying than Glenn Healy.

But when Letang returns from LTIR and they have to put his cap back on? The thing is just because you appear to have room due to LTIR; you don't. Once those guys return you would be royally effed.... |

Canada, like the Pens, is loaded with talent.
But, I fear, Crosby no longer has that will to win. In the end, it really is about winning. Since Vancouver, Crosby has not been able to lead his team to victory in critical games. The Pens have not gone deep into the playoffs despite the depth of their talent.
Crosby continues to produce points but critical victories are now in the distant past. - spatso
Are you actually serious ???

I get that the round robin games are the time to experiment with lines, but man has Babcock been a spaz with them.... "What, four shifts together and no chemistry? Change 'em up!" |

Funny how you bring up the word "tool" when you seem to be the sharpest one in the shed.
Why don't you go back to bashing your own group of first overall draft picks that have amounted to absolutely nothing.
Your team is trash, and the only chance you have of winning another cup is if Gretzky, Messier, Coffey, etc. come out of retirement and you'll probably still come up short. |
