I thought that line with Benn and Bergeron looked fantastic last game, I would keep that together. Only a matter of time before that start yielding results.
Benn-Crosby-Bergeron
Duchene-Getzlaf-Perry
Tavares-Toews-St Louis
Carter-Marleau-Sharp
is how I would line em up - 20 minutes a game for L1, 16 minutes a game each for L2 and L3, 8 for L4, all of whom have been underwhelming.
Bench Nash and Kunitz, who have done next to nothing. |

It seems like some believe Canada should stroll through this tourney like the US "Dream Team" in Olympic Basketball. I doubt anyone would deny that Canada has the best, deepest roster, but they are capable of losing to 4 teams here without it being a big upset, IMO. - MadCap2008
Three teams I'd say. While it's feasible for Finland to win, I'd be genuinely surprised and by extension upset if they lost to Finland.
I agree that Canada could see themselves 4th behind Sweden, Russia and the USA (no particular order ) and I wouldn't be the least bit surprised. |

Your hatred for Kunitz has a twinge of homosexuality along with it at this point, I do believe Kunitz is married. I believe the way he speaks in just Canadian don't be fooled by that. - nbartley9
You lost us at "twinge."
The word you're looking for is "tinge," as in, "there's just a TINGE of idiocy in this post."
Thanks for trying.
Edit: Oh, and Sid will be just fine. |

Twinge is a word, I've just never heard it outside of the phrase "twinge of guilt". |

i dont think there is anything wrong with his play. even coach babcock said he cannot figure out allof the criticism. with that said, how about finalnd (and with the injuries)? good for maatta! at the end of the day, they are still facing Rask, Lunquist, etc. pretty good goalies in this competition.
its great to see everyone competing hard. |

Canada, like the Pens, is loaded with talent.
But, I fear, Crosby no longer has that will to win. In the end, it really is about winning. Since Vancouver, Crosby has not been able to lead his team to victory in critical games. The Pens have not gone deep into the playoffs despite the depth of their talent.
Crosby continues to produce points but critical victories are now in the distant past. - spatso
one man cannot win a game for anyone besides the goalie, as long as crosby is playing with full effort and giving his all then the rest is up to the team arround him |

Exactly. Crosby has been getting all the top shutdown lines so far in the tournament. Not to mention the top shutdown d pair from each team. |

He is the face of the NHL and is Canadian. He could drink pop and eat big macs after every practice and while he did interviews and the media wouldn't say anything bad about him. - blizzzard
The media might not say anything bad, but opposing coaches and players wouldn't make mention of his work ethic/drive. This shouldn't be an argument. He is one of the hardest working players in the league and is ultra-competitive. I don't think any of that is a media fabrication. |

honestly what forward on team Canada is playing good, this is world class hockey and your 3-4 th liners and dmen are gonna be the ones that score ,as long as Crosby is playing his hardest and he is like RYAN said the puck is in the Ozone alot when Crosby is on the ice that is what you want that is what wins you games |

Crosby will be criticized as long as he's not putting up 2.0 points per game on average. It is the way of things, either like it or don't read the coverage.
The reduced ice time is a combo of trying to balance ice time between the overinflated ego cases that make up our national team (no team in this touney aside from Canada can argue that all four lines deserve equvalent play time, hence why we will win...), and also to help save energy for what will likely be a brutal and incredibly physical elimination round.
We need Crosby at his best, which means not pointlessly double shifting him in games that mean sweet (frank) all in the big scheme of things.
Gonna be a fun week...for Canada. |

I just love how a decent sized element of the hockey media and fan base feel the need to find someone to blame for an undefeated team. |

Is it possible that they sit tight this year at the deadline since it hasn't worked out adding guys the past couple of seasons ? The Pens and Bruins are clearly the elite teams in the East, with Tampa (assuming a healthy Stamkos) looming as a potential darkhorse. |

Well that's different. If Russia loses, it's because Ovechkin showed no effort. If Canada loses, it's because Crosby's teammates couldn't match his incredible effort. |

Its a shame how badly Canadian fans are ruining this Olympics for everyone with there constant wining. It may just be that Canadian tone of voice that comes off as so insanely winey.
Not one other team's fans found a scape goat and bashed their captain before the games even began. - nbartley9

No way Cammalleri's cap hit fits, they'd have to move a decent sized contract to even fit Stepniak if Vokoun is likely back. |
