It's an embarrassment. While Canada plays politics, the U.S. plays to win. Who have the Canadians really beat up on? Austria? Who are they in the world scheme of things? They win by 2 against Norway, who's really an afterthought. They have to go to overtime, to beat Finland. Where are all of the big time goal scorers for Canada? All I see are a couple of defensemen and Jeff Carter scoring a bit. This team is bloated, with too many managers, too many friends, getting friends added to the roster. How is Kunitz, Marleau and Vlasic on this team? What is it? A need for representation from each part of Canada? I think about the spiel that Don Cherry ranted about, after the World Juniors had lost for the fourth time in a row. He spoke about politics and political correctness, in Hockey Canada. Something tells me that we're seeing it now. And for the record, I did not watch today's game, I just got the score and noticed that it took overtime to settle it.

So you're like that guy who doesn't vote and as soon as the election is over you complain about the first move the new government makes.

Not sure if you watched it or not, but in 2010 the Canadians needed OT and a shootout to beat the Swiss....And, they lost to the Americans.

I've voted in every election since 1976.

Canada had a very easy group and they really haven't shown anything. Vancouver was played on North American rinks. The larger ice surface will be their undoing.

Funny, since I've been a riding president, during election campaigns and I occasionally work part time, for Peter C. Newman, Canada's foremost authority on politics in Canada.

What guy? You said that I didn't vote and b!tched about the government after they screwed us all over. You're off base with that prediction. I sometimes get P.M.'s from Dozzer for talking politics on this site. In reality, it's my passion, right next to hockey.

This is why I don't watch the Olympic hockey, when it's played on the 200 x 100 rink. It's a bastardized game and only benefits the European's. It makes more sense, now that you look at it, from the Russian point of view, using a number of KHL players. It's a travesty, seeing teams like Switzerland and Latvia play for a goal and try to sit on it. The physical play, that's the trademark of real hockey, is neutered, thanks to all of the extra area out there. In reality, would you rather watch 82 games of this, or 82 games of hockey played in the Atlantic or Pacific divisions of the NHL? Do I want Canada to win? Absolutely! I just find that the team is too political and there needs to be a major shift at hockey Canada. Too many sweethearts playing, not enough bruisers. It makes for dull, mundane hockey. I hate it!

Quote me where I said you were that guy. I said you were like that guy who complains about the government. Then you came back with your political credentials for some reason. As in, he doesn't vote but has an opinion...where you don't watch the games, yet magically knows what's going on with the games. A political pundit like you can see that no?

Believe me, I know enough about Olympic hockey. I live in Belleville. We have one of the very few Olympic size rinks in North America here. I've watched the OHL on it and don't think much of it. I've seen Olympic hockey since the 1960's and even know a number of the Belleville McFarland's, who won the World Championships, in the late 50's. I saw the Summit Series, then the WHA version two years later. I've seen Olympic style hockey for decades and it's not a good calibre of hockey. Real hockey is played on 200 x 85 foot rinks. You have to be quicker and more aware. This is nothing but soccer with skates on, for most of the teams there.

Because you made an uneducated guess, on the person that you where disagreeing with. So if you made that misjudgement, then maybe your wrong about the hockey side of it too!

If anything I made an educated guess that you don't know what you're talking about when it comes to the games because you didn't watch them. In fact, this being a Leaf thread we constantly get on our heels when another fan comes in posting his opinions when he doesn't watch the Leafs as much as we do.

Uneducated?! Just because he's a native, you're so quick to jump to that conclusion?!

As much as I want to call you a racist, I'll restrain myself and shake my head.
