I thought there was a freeze so how can two teams be talking, two team just talking about a possible transaction in may opinon would be a violation of the nhl trade freeze.

i guess it's good that gm's aren't too worried about your opinion on the freeze.

I like Parenteau but apparently Roy doesn't. He was stellar with Duchene last season & this year Roy won't let him play in that spot. His power play minutes are down but worse he's been playing the point on the PP this season instead of as a forward.

Prior to his best season to date on PPG average he is down nominally from his career averages although it's a limited sample size.

Parenteau is a great example of determination, dedication & hard work & I preach to my players constantly about Parenteau. Don't give up your dream. Drafted 264th overall in 2001. 7 years spent in the minors playing in the AHL. Finally got a cup of coffee in NYR due to injuires at 27 & turned that into an NHL career. Signed as a UFA by NYI that off season & we all know the rest.

A very smart player with good hands. Below average skater but smart enough to make up for some of it.

If it's Briere & a pick it better be a 1st.

Not from a team that isn't a cup contender : ) and I believe he was saying it as in we really don't need Briere but if for some reason we have to take him it better come with some nice incentive.

Then I wouldn't move him unless I like the player coming back & I don't like Briere.

I could see him even getting a 1st and a 2nd from a contender. Not the best draft, and a contender's pick would be low, and unlikely to ever make a contribution.

Could be a slightly more established prospect(2nd line potential) as well.

Not that I'd want the Leafs to do it, but someone like Leivo.

I highly doubt a contender gives up 1st and 2nd for him.

Where's the guy who said he knew for a fact that Team USA was only starting Quick the first game so Miller could get the start against the Russians and that Miller would be the #1?

You here, bro?

If a Cinderella story is an indication of a player's value, we'll trade you Desharnais for ROR and a 1st.

Who is on the outs in Montreal? We have already gave up a piece that was considered a strong part of this team for proven playoff exp already this year. It would not surprise me really to see Roy not consider parenteau a part of the long term core. Do we need a scoring play making winger that's had trouble finding his spot this year?maybe Roy and Sakic feel playoff performance weighs heavy? Brier a D man and a third? Is Montreal looking for scoring? There has been smoke, as much as I don't beleive anything Eklund says, there could be fire.

Sorry trying to help the guy that didn't understand what's happening to NHL players & rosters until the NHL games commence again on the 26th.

I think having this freeze will help teams get deadline deals lined up better with out panicking or over paying.

Don't get this deal.. Has PA really been that bad in Colorado? Why would they move him for a bum in Briere, and a draft pick when they are just coming out of rebuilding mode. They shouldn't be moving assets for draft picks anymore.
- TheJerseyDevil1

He hasnt been bad, just with the forward depth hasnt been able to draw back into the Top 6 when we the team is healthy, hes more effective in that role. MacKinnon on the 3rd line can produce with Mitchell and Talbot as his wingers so PAP can be moved if we still have a producing Top 9 without him. Its a nice problem to have

I think the canucks would happily give up a 1st for a player like parenteau. Unfortunately they would need Colorado to take back Booth to make they dollars work & that has to be a non starter.

I didn't make that reference. Good luck with that.
