Im watching Switzerland/Czech: Swiss up 1-0 with 5:37 left in 3rd. Both the Swiss commitment to team D and Hiller have been fantastic.

Yeah I've been switching back and forth between the games.

Edler just scored Sweden's first even strength goal.. up 5-3 now. The more I see of Edler, the more I'd like him on the flyers

The Swiss are definitely in contention for a Medal. They have allowed 1 goal in 3 games. Of course they have only scored 2, but as you said their commitment to team D, and Hiller are a formidable combination.

The Swiss are quickly becoming the team no one wants to play in the quarterfinals. I haven't seen the whole game, but from what I've seen of streit, he's had a very solid game.

Agreed. They outplayed Sweden for much of the game. They won't get blown out by anyone. They can really skate.

Streit just made a really smart play to close out the Czech Republic. Streit has been really solid defensively in these 3 games.

Streit was out there the last 90 seconds of the game, protecting a one goal lead. He's been quite good in the Olympics

Final Swiss 1 - Czech 0
Hiller flat out stoned Jagr in tight with about 15 secs left.
From what I saw the best way to beat the Swiss will be to physically pressure their D with a hard forecheck, the few times the Czechs got physical they had their best chances. Your going to have a very hard time trying to beat these guyscwith skill alone cause they will just sit back and play a 1-4

Looks like Sweden, Switzerland, the US, Finland and Canada have clinched moving on to the next round.

edit: oops, apparently everyone moves on but the three group leaders and the 2nd place team with the most points get a bye into the quarterfinals

Could be worse Dale Hunter only has 1 green tie worn during every London Knights game.

I used to be 100% anti-shoot out, but as time moves on, I've warmed up to it. I'd still rather have overtime and ties, but it doesn't get me all riled up anymore.

Unless I find a way to get on the Board of Governors, nothing I can do about it. I've just decided to let it go. As long as they don't have them in the SC playoffs, I'm good.

Yup. Quick knocked the net off the moorings. I don't know if he did it on purpose, but it had nothing to do with the result of the play which was a goal. These rules are really stupid. A great game was cheapened between that, and the ridiculous shootout rules.
- PLindbergh31

article I just read (maybe chesnokov?) said he'd knocked it of moving side to side for prior save, so that would suggest not intentional. And then it's just bad on the linesmen for not noticing it was off for so long.
