raymond has gotten a grand total of 13 points since mid december.

thats two months ago.

How have Orr, McLaren, and Smith done? Boys, it's a mid round draft pick …keep the depth or replace him with some veteran grit. Nobodies "over valuing" Raymond …lets not be guilty of overvaluing Smith, Orr, Holland and McLaren. They suck mooooore.

And Bolland hasn't taken a shift yet.

Holland>>Raymond.

I think every GM in the league would take Holland over Raymond anyday.

Who falls more on their own accord..... Stajan or Raymond??

from what I see he doesn't have good on-ice vision/hockey sense.

How many of his goals have come off soft wristers that the goalie wiffed on??

he's a decent, not good, perimeter shooter.

thats about it.

Why are we comparing a top 6 with 4th liners?? What does what orr/Smith/Mclaren/ect do have to do with Raymond??

losing raymond wouldn't hurt this team one bit. Get an asset for him.

orr and mcclaren bring a confidence to the rest of the lineup.. what they bring doesnt show up on the score sheet.

and i have said repeatedtly if you can find someone to do the job they do AND put up some numbers i am all for replacing them.

raymond is there to add scoring.. thats all. he isnt doing that.. so he isnt doing his job. at least orr and co are able to do the job asked of them.

and you need to consider the financial implications of raymond.. simply put.. the leafs cant afford to retain him another year so you move him.. its not that complex.

thats my main point.

he got 1 million to prove he could still play in the league

you think he plays for 1 million again next season? no chance.. he'll be 3+

I'm not pumpin' Raymond's tires but surely he's better than Smith, Orr, etc... and a better option then throwing McKegg and Leivo to the wolves.
- The Law

It's not like Raymond's being tightly checked or anything...

Putting young players in a secondary scoring roll is exactly what you want to do to bring them into the NHL.

Putting them on teh top line would be throwing them to the wolves.

and you were wrong, move on now.

No Im not...who do the leafs have to replace him?

You're dumb if you think Nonis is going to move Raymond or Kulemin for picks.
They are in a playoff hunt, Nonis will only move them if A) he knows someone in the AHL can replace their production - which to this point hasnt been shown and/or B) they are getting a player in return that improves the team. Considering their cap hits and how tight the leafs are...Im not sure what they would get.

Kulemin I don't see leaving, but Raymond just doesn't bring much of anything.

Check out his career playoff stats.

Old news.
Orr doesn't really bring anything anymore. McLaren..sure keep him around. But Orr needs to be replaced.

If the leafs are going to make a playoff run, they'll most likely keep Raymond..Nonis wont ship him out for a pick (according to him).
If Raymond walks at the end of the season, big deal...he was sign for nothing...he can leave for nothing.
I think Nonis may try to sign him to a 1 -2 year at about 3 million per.....if he interested in doing so.

But we're talking depth and experience. Trade Raymond, hit a couple of injuries (fairly common in the playoffs) and all of a sudden you're dressing McLaren and Orr or calling up rookies from the farm. The Leafs shouldn't be moving guys out ….unless they're going to also bring some guys in. Maybe swap Raymond for some 3rd line grit?
- The Law

What are we? Contenders trying to make a deep run? It's silly to hold on to a piece like Raymond when you're likely 2 - 3 years away from being taken seriously.

It's okay to allow the rookies from the farm a game or two in the playoffs for experience. Much better for the future.

Sure thing..... if you say so..... you're so much smarter than us. Got it.

I guess I can say you're dumb if you think the Leafs will miss him??? Holland, Smith, Bolland, ect...... no one to replace him??

There's so much wrong with this.

A playoff run? You bring up his stats and use the "4th in points on Leafs" to your advantage, but you totally ignore his playoff stats?

3 million per? That money could be spent on a useful player who isnt a soft little winger.

You still havent answered (And you wont), but Raymond isnt putting up points, what else does he do that helps the team? Hint: Nothing.

So letting an asset walk for nothing, and keeping him in the lineup while he provides nothing is a smart move?? That's beyond stupid.

And then you want to give him 3 mil?? (frank) me....... I hope Nonis isn't that stupid.
