I don't care about your stats, maybe you were too young to remember or something, he wasn't good. But if you want some stats on that, I'd be happy to look them up.

Someone just got a shutout for Team Canada today. Not even sure who. Was it Luongo? Was he awesome today?

Well I guess I remember Luongo coming in and saving our asses after Brodeur failed...

Yeah that shutout against Norway was masterful. Really helped out his stats too. Two goal against effort against Germany? Vezina worthy. I think it's incredible how he managed those stats, good for fifth best sv% in the tournament, behind niedermayer, pronger, Keith, etc. He could have dragged Japan to gold with a showing like that! Just shows Canada was in big trouble without such stellar goaltending. I mean, if Luongo provided worse goaltending than Austria, Instead of just every other hockey nation in the entire world, they may have lost!

Brodeurs performance does nothing to change that luongo wasn't good, and had Canada not had the best offense and defense by a wide margin, their goaltending would have blown it. Yes, its a sad state of affairs for goaltending in Canada right now. Luongo does nothing to help that.

Elliott Pap of the Vancouver Sun: Canucks coach John Tortorella said that Alex Burrows has a sprained hand from his fight with Phil Kessel and he is hoping that he’ll be ready to by the 19th.

Of course we will ignore the 34 saves in the final against the USA...... I mean Miller was all world with his 36 but Luongo was NOT GOOD with his 34

Yeah. Now you want to boil it down to one game when he still got outplayed? What happened to quoting his fifth best stats?

Nope. Not at all. I actually like Luongo as a person a lot. If it weren't for his diminishing capabilities as a goalie and ridiculous contract, I'd love him in Toronto. It would make for some amazing entertainment. The guy to me seems like an amazing ambassador to the game and a likeable guy.

He wasn't one of the better goalies in Vancouver though. Not a chance. He's had several average years and some brutal playoff performances for the canucks. Culminating in him losing his starting job. He's not one of the better goalies in the NHL anymore. That's just how it is.

Anyone that tries to tell me that he was a big contributor to gold in Vancouver though, is out to lunch. He may have even been the best goalie Canada brought, but Canada got one of the weaker goaltending of the tournament. In recent years, that's been a trend though. Most elite goalies have come from Finland, Sweden, even the US.

I don't think miller is any better. That tournament he was, without question. Overall, I think he's highly overrated though.

I dont think goaltending is gonna be a issue for TC be it Price or Luongo they will get the job done..

I assume it was something regarding price. Until this year, he's never convinced me he was elite. This year, so far, he's been one of the best in the league, and has carried the habs. I desperately hope that continues through the Olympics. I'd be more comfortable with a guy like lundqvist, who's done it for years. Canada in my opinion, yet again has some of the weaker goaltending, overall, but if price plays the whole tourney luke he has this year it will not play out that way. And canada will likely win gold easily if that's the case.

.927 And 1.75 last Olympic.

Seems like great numbers to me. Let in 2 goals in the final and one was 6 on 5 advantage for the states. Guy gets no respect for anything he does.

Stanley cup final 2 shutouts and couple more 1 goal games but he was the reason they lost.

Another note, the stats in these tournaments aren't always what they seem. Sometimes you have to look a little closer. A guy like brayden schenn will go down in team canada history as one of the greatest goal scorers in team canada world junior history... In large part because of a single five goal game against fricken Norway. Jeff carter may come out of these Olympics looking the same for this team.

Same can be said of luongo and brodeur from 2010. Brodeur got a few tough games to start, didn't fare too well, then luongo came in against Norway and germany, and had some great stats. His stats for the rest of the tournament weren't spectacular. And the gold medal game, he coughed up a twogoal lead. Its been a while, but my recollection is they weren't great goals either. That could just be me though.

Kunitz Sucks.... Sit him over anyone.

Only there because of Crosby and they don't look that great.

Nash looks kinda old and slow....

Hall may have been a better pick than Nash

Fifth best sv% of the tournament. Why is that, when he got the easier round robin games?

Nash is more used for his defence in this tournament and that's why he's far a head of hall in that regard.

Kunitz hasn't done anything and may in fact be holding Crosby back. Kunitz can do it when your playing nhl teams but when you re playing all star teams he isn't going to look good IMO.
