yeah, not condescending at all

love how you you try to come off as some kind of hero yourself

and yes.. any judgement based on race or gender is wrong. period. why is this such a horrible statement to make?

honest question. because to me, what i am hearing is you justifying one while condemning the other.

Hey Bruce, would you be open to the idea of a young slightly undersized, but skilled male hockey player opting to play on a woman's team/league? Would the women be open to this idea?

It's not a horrible statement, it's a stupid statement.

If I say women are more at risk for breast cancer, is that wrong?

the comment was
women will never play in the NHL

discuss

As a goalie, its possible. As a skater, I doubt it but it's possible. It's also possible that I make the NHL too.

Other than the fact that men are pigs, responsible for all world wars, violent, and overall evil men are equal to women in every way.

yes, because for a woman to make it into a mens league, she'd have to be elite in skill and size and leave the average woman behind. The average women would play in the womans league while the 'elite' chicks would make the mens league.

C'mon man - there's only been 2. Don't you want a bigger sample size before you blame men?

True, but my point is that I don't think the women would welcome that with open arms (maybe I am wrong). My guess is that most women are happy to play in the leagues they are in. yes there are some super talented girls and women that can play at a skill level equal or higher to most boys and men, but how many of them want to?

Women are genetically, on average, significantly smaller. There is hard data to back that up. They are also born, due to genetics, with something like (can't remember the actual number) 25% less muscle. That can be backed up too. Those two facts together make it highly unlikely you'll ever see a woman play in the NHL. Just like you'll likely never see a woman with the fastest 100m dash, the fastest 50m freestyle swim, or any athletic endeavour where muscle and size are an advantage. In other words, almost all of them.

There is hard data to back those things up. Every single statement I made.

The minimum salary in the NHL is $550,000.

There is no professional women's league at the moment.

So I'm guessing on an individual level, if a woman had the opportunity to play with the big boys, she would jump at it.
