After what he's done since purchasing the team it proves that the guy is off his rocker if he actually believed this. He has done nothing but made himself public enemy number 1 with the fans and politicians on LI. The best thing that could happen this team would be him selling it. He is inept as is every single person he hires/has hired.

I certainly don't disagree about the quality of owner he's been. The guy purchased the team as a complete novice and has operated it as one. I think folks were okay with him during his first couple of years here when he immediately gave Milbury the ability to spend on whatever he wanted. It was shortly after that when he realized it was a sinking ship and the only thing he could do is minimize his losses until the team got a better stadium deal.

It's his quirky decision making I despise. I don't blame him for being on the cheap. It's a losing battle in which he's just trying to hold on until the team is on a safe foundation.

If he truly doesn't sell, and this team becomes a contender over the next several years, folks will understand what he did during this period a bit more. If not, he'll forever be despised by Isles fans.

One of those situations where Snow not making a mistake(resigning him as he almost did with him and Streit) or getting a crappy return. Him not making a bone headed mistake supercedes the importance of the return. It sucks when your management is so incompetent you're always just hoping for the lesser of two evils.

There have been rumors of the team being up for sale countless times over the last 7-8 years but it never turns out to be true. Perhaps public outcry could force him in that direction but I doubt it. The guy is pretty damn stubborn, as we all know.

Per Botta, one GM supposedly told him the best the Isles will get is a late 2nd rounder and a 5th. Sort of falls into my line of thinking. No one should be expecting a 1st rounder. At best we get one 2nd rounder and a decent second pick to go with it like a 3rd or 4th.

Yes. It is not an exaggeration by fans. By far the most overrated and misused player I've seen in my lifetime on this team. He'd have a hard time cracking the line up on a decent team but our moron coach will throw him out there for 26 minutes a night. Repeatedly coughs up the puck in the same situations. Hard to watch. Between our coach and moron GM I think most Isles fans would just be happy to see him go before they do something stupid, like offer a bigger contract.
