Well, I don't think they have one of those at the Galleria then because there's garbage everywhere. And if they do have one, he needs to be fired because he sucks at his job.

So I'm at the Galleria yesterday and there's a man in front of me demanding a "Canadian Discount" because he "drove all this way to shop in the States" and assumed he was entitled to a discount.

After he walked out of the store, he threw his old shoes at (not in) the garbage can.

What a quality representative.

It's so funny all the Canadians think they drive the local economy. They've convinced themselves without them we would all eat mud pies and live in huts. Thy shop at national chain retail stores where people make $12 and all the profits go out of state.

Thank good they are coming here and spending their money . They fill our restaurants , stores and hotels. Take a look at Buffalo airport . 70 % of the cars are Canadian without them , the Buffalo economy would suck . We can put up with the garbage they leave, because they leave their money too. There are some rude ones , but US has its share of rude ones too.

Canadian dollar keeps diving and we may stop seeing them. The economic impact they have here is much needed . Especially the additional tax dollars generated. So let's not cry about them spending money here. Lots of other things to whine about.

Don't most people use the nearest airport? I've never made a dime off Canadians in my life.

Even so, if you're going into someone else's home the least you could is be respectful. After all they chose to go there. Anytime I'm outside of Canada I (along with many others I know) try to be extra nice because you're in there backyard now and we're thankful to them for letting us be there.

It's not an isolated incident and that's where the problem lies. If they want to come here and pump our economy with their money, that's fine. But I feel like asking them to be courteous while doing so is just going to far, or at least that's how they seem to act.

They leave all their garbage in the parking lots, yell when they have to wait for a table at a restaurant (though I've found they only go to chain restaurants, so if it's a mom and pop place, you're fine), expect that they should get some kind of extra discount and are just overall rude and snarky like we owe them something.

Last time I checked, the reason they come here for shopping is because it's already so much cheaper than what they would pay at home. Isn't that enough? Why do they feel they should get an extra discount? Or be waited on hand and foot?

It does not mean a damn thing, IMO. Womens hockey is awful when it comes down the the competition outside of the US and Canada. That is why every year there is talk about taking it out of the Olympics.

I agree,but some of these folks do not want to realize the economic impact of the cross border shoppers. I belong to Buffalo - Niagara partnership and they send us info frequently of the additional tax revenue generated. Thank you Canadians for that . That is all I am saying . As for the garbage , I think the malls should provide more garbage containers in the parking lots. Then local law enforcement should drive around giving out healthy fines for those that don't use them . Problem solved

I think that's where you will find the bulk of them.

Oh, absolutely. I also encountered one on my way back from NYC two years ago. I had the window seat on the plane and had the shade down. Halfway through the flight, the girl that had the aisle seat decided to open up the shade. Nevermind the fact that I was clearly sleeping and had it down for that very reason.

I must say, that was probably one of the most rude things that someone could have done. If she wanted to look out the window, she should have selected a window seat. I gladly would have switched with her as I actually prefer the aisle.

Few things from the women's game.

It was an important game to both teams. Besides being the 1 seed the Canadians needed to break their streak of losses to the USA. The USA wanted it to be the 1 seed and to beat the Canadians in the Olympics. It def was not a meaningless game, but the next game will mean more obviously.

The Canadians second goal was a factor of a few things. Personally in the end it should have counted and here is why. The IIHF uses the 3 official (1 ref 2 lineswomen) system and I don't understand why. The game is a lot faster than it was even 4 years ago. These women can fly. The system is very outdated. Had they been using the 4 official system the ref wouldn't have been on the blue line when she blew her whistle she would have been on the goal line and probably would have seen the puck was never covered.

However regardless of the controversy the USA got outplayed poorly in the third. They didn't start playing until they were down 2. The Canadians wanted it more. Hopefully the gold medal game will be another dandy between these two teams

Kind of. There are Candian Jerks. There are far more Jerks that live in Buffalo.

What you guys are all experiencing is confirmation Bias. If a candian is acting like you or I you don't notice at all. But if he/she is being an A$$ you stuff that in the Candian jerk part of the brain.

I have experienced far more positive than negative candian experiences at the Mall throughout the years, they are (for the most part) exceptionally generous and polite.

As I said Cheektowaga Police should be patrolling the lot and giving out healthy littering fines ( another source of revenue ) Do that long enough and it will stop . Plus they cannot cross the border with an outstanding summons so they have no choice but to pay it.

You do realize that most of the time it is your fellow US citizens that are dumping their garbage in the parking lot, because they are too damn lazy to walk the 20 feet.

Side note, I have never met a person from Canada I have not liked.

And i would say probably 99% of the time i see problems at Games, events it is usually the "US Guy" starting the trouble.

I have found people from Buffalo have this self worth about them and the area, that if you are not from here, you do not belong.

Yeah and I'm an American citizen who pays federal, state, school, and sales tax. And I also spend money in Canada every year on hotels and other things. It doesn't make me special and people don't have to bow down to me.
