Yeah, I agree. They'll need to just be solid/steady or above average against the Swedes/Russians/Americans but not much else as long as the guys up front are scoring like they should be.

Honestly I don't feel like the goaltending is that big a weak point. Aside from Smith being there but that puts them on par with the US for bringing Howard.

Depth only really matters if your top guy isn't good. Honestly I think Price will get the job and if that's the case....I'm not that worried. I don't like Montreal, but there's no doubt that Price is an elite goaltender.

I wouldn't say they have the best goaltending, but I don't think it's that bad. Anything can happen with goalies. Who steps up and is unknown until all the teams start playing some games.

I'm still not convinced that Quick and Rask are as good as the NHL stats make them out to be. And Lundquvist has looked much more human this year.

All the Canadian goalies have to do is make the saves that can be expected of an NHL netminder and we will be fine.

My post did not even come close to insinuating either of those things and I have no idea where you got them from. I said nothing about Price getting. Respect or not. I said he's carrying the Habs. I also said absolutely nothing negative about Luongo as a goalie. I said Price is better and I don't imagine a very large number of hockey fans would disagree with that. Luongo is very good. price is better right now.

I mean come on, Bishops got a .933 sv% and 1.98 GAA playing 44 games for TB who lost Lecavalier in the offseason, Stamkos early in the season, and Filppulla later in the season. Guy is a machine.

As for other goalies, Varlamov and Miller are both phenomenal goalies. Miller is playing behind one of the worst NHL teams ever assembled. Seriously Buffalo. If you took away their SO wins, they'd only have 9 wins after 57 games played.

Price is also playing behind a very weak defence and putting up some strong numbers. He should be the starter.
