Varlys been good this year, but when he isnt stealing games he is letting in 5-7 goals. And team russia's d isnt that great, so either he gets hot and wins games
2-1, or he is prone still to open the flood gates in a run and gun 5-4 style game.

Unless they go with Bob in net, who doesnt seem as strong as he was last season.

Only question I have is whether Price is ultimately the goaltender of choice for Babcock.

this has got to be top ten in most absurd things I have ever read on this site

everyone needs to take a deep breath and stop acting like our goaltending is going to sink us. a small part of every Canadian outside Quebec is secretly hoping to see Price fail because he's a Hab. it's understandable. but it's not going to happen. i'm not saying Canada will win gold but what i am saying is that if they don't win gold, it won't be because of him. this kid is a complete stud. he has dragged a Montreal team that, outside of goaltending, is mediocre at best, probably below mediocre, into a comfortable playoff position. Augello, like everyone else, likes to point to Price's numbers over that 10-12 game stretch and act as thought Price was falling apart, without having seen him play at all. any Habs fan will tell you that the slump had absolutely nothing to do with Price and everything to do with, again, the fact that he doesn't play behind a very good team.

Price has been outstanding this year and this will be the first time he's played behind an elite defence. everyone loves to point to Rask and Quick and talk about how Canada's goaltending is a few notches below but put Price behind those defences and you'd see the same thing.

it's all cute how everyone is talking about this "competition" between Price and Luongo but Babcock is no fool. he will ride Price (no code) from the Finland game on. Canada has nothing to worry about with their goaltending.
