When Kessel was 22, he was the 20th highest scoring right winger in the league.

Actually just checked, at 21 he was 12th in the league in goals (4th among RWs), tied for 19th in the league in goals at 22 (8th among RWs).

Ah points, that makes sense. He ranked higher at 21 years of age.
He's elite now though, so it's all good.

What are you, some sorta puck hog?

Scoring refers to goals and assists.

You should try skating back behind your own blueline once in a while.

Jerk.

People are still debating the Kessel trade? Seguin has already been dumped by Boston. Trading him is on them.

Jared Knight will be serving us fries within a couple of years.

My favourite thing about Kessel is the absolute zero maintenance of the guy.

I call BS.

The shirt would have "Stanley Cup Champions" written on the front.

And a $37.95 price tag dangling on it.

My favourite thing about Kessel is the absolute zero maintenance of the guy besides the 4mil they paid Bozak to keep Phil from walking...

Funny thing about that:

I was watching one of the shows, and I think it was Damien Cox who said that a lot of athletes will tell reporters that they don't read the papers, etc., but with Kessel, he's telling the truth.

The guy simply doesn't care about the noise. At all.

Cox said it because at the time, a lot of media were saying that Kessel wouldn't re-sign in Toronto because of all the negative press. Cox said that it wasn't a factor.

Damn, looks like Cox may have been right.

At the time I thought t was a bad deal. I knew the Leafs sucked something fierce but I didn't think the picks would end up what they were. I also didn't think Kessel would be this good. At this point Kessel is the best player. But i still think this is a deal that's another couple of years away from being fairly judged. How good will Kessel get? How good will Seguin get? How good will Hamilton get? ( the insinuation that he's a third pairing guy isn't worth addressing)

These are question to which we don't yet have answers

You look along history and Toronto and Montreal, vicious media markets with zero comparables in the league, have little trouble retaining their own players.

Let's be honest: if a guy is picking between Toronto/Montreal and Tampa Bay or LA, the weather is going to be the deciding factor, not Damien Cox or Red Fisher.

hamilton is and will always be a 3rd pairing defenseman. Reminds me of certain big slow defenseman we have on our team.

Very debate able that Seguin is a number one centre. He wasn't in Boston, he's number in Dallas by default. Kinda like saying Bozak is a number one centre. Seguin was used alot of the time as a winger in Boston.

I know Gardiners slow, but I thinking they are working on his schooling during the off time.
