Oshie is the best shootout player in the NHL....He can shoot everytime in Intl' play.
US defeats Russia 3-2 as TJ Oshie wins it in a shootout. Controversy, but int'l rules are different-My Fox Chicago:

Great way to decide a team game...send out one guy over, and over, and over, and over. |

EXACTLY!
Have a rule that MAKES a Sham of the VERY PART of the wrinkle that decides a TEAM game...
I don't care IF YOU LIKE SHOOT-OUTS, this is NO WAY to decide an ouycome of a team game.
The NFL could have on player KICK to one return man to decide the game.
The NBA could make one play take a shot, othet team take a shot, and continue to drop back a foot with each round....
NO A FREAKING WAY to settle a T E A M game!
why not just let each team PICK a number from one to ten and the one the REF picked decides who one?
because to me the difference between a score and a miss on a shoot-out is just THAT random.... |

It's even crappier than the NHL's version of the shoot-out. |

Yeah it is a crappy way to end a team game, but I'm sure most here thought it was cool seeing Toews score 3 times at a world Juniors game years ago? |

TT update: Last game before olympic break in Finnish League (no idea why it started now?) and his team lost 2-4 today. Teuvo scored both goals tonight and in last minute of the game. Three goals in two games. |

I thought 3 different guys had to shoot in the 1st 3 rounds and then you could keep sending the same guy out...I was half asleep and may have mis-heard.. |

You know how I feel about the shootout...It was unfortunate the game had to be decided that way.
That was a big reason why Oshie made the team....
And for those who think going to the Olympics is the correct move then they need to embrace it all...
That includes one player going over and over and BTW....Only in Olympic play would the Russian goal have been disallowed.

Ogi - you're preaching to the choir here - we have no power to make changes.
You need to petition Bettman - AND (more so) the networks.
And do it quickly - before they go to the shoot-out for the play-offs. |

Oshie was 4 for 6, I think.
All crapping about the SO aside, he scored two to keep the SO going, and then the winner.
A terrific pressure performance. |

He had all five after the first 3.
Datsyuk and Kovalchuk split Russia's extra five. |
