My take on the controversial goal. The whistle was blown before the puck crossed the line, but it was heading for the line at the time and the whistle had zero impact on the play. Also, the whistle should not have been blown, as the goalie was never even close to covering the puck. So, while the goal shouldn't have counted because of the whistle, a well-reffed play would have resulted in a goal. I find it hard, as an American fan to say the original bad call should have stood. Just my take.

How many times have we seen that the Whistle is the judgement of the play, meaning that even if a whistle was not blown but the ref was in the act of blowing, the play is ruled dead. Right or wrong, that is what the judgement is. If the whistle blew, it should be a dead play.
Edit: We have seen many a bad calls stand.

Pretty sad that even in a blowout, Kane still cannot score with Handzus on the ice. The trend continues.....
