Ference is a stay at home defensive defenseman along the lines of Grossmann. They already have 3 of those type of players. They needed a puck moving defenseman who can provide points as well as having the big shot from the point.

Thats the problem in a nutshell, way too many teams are in the hunt especially in the East. At this point, the only true sellers are Florida, Buffalo, the Isles, Nashville, Winnipeg, Edmonton, Calgary and Dallas.

With only 8 teams selling, someone is going be overpaying and I'm just hoping its not the Flyers. I don't think that there's any one young puck moving dman that would all of a sudden transform the Flyers into a true cup contender, so unless a reasonable deal falls into their lap, I would rather see them stand pat and look to improve the D after the season.

yeah that plus would need to be nice. murphy has some nice potential and downie has a low ceiling. the yotes are in the exact opposite spot of the flyers. they need to step up and find a game changing forward. problem is, theyre never bad enough to draft really high.
