Not if you had to play ANA, SJ, LA, PHX, and VAN more frequently than BOS, TB, MTL, DET and OTT.

Don't forget Buffalo, we're tough to play against, come on, we are........promise!?!

Arguing about what COULD have happened makes for a pretty weak argument

That was my point. Who Frank Cares where the teams are at this time. My intent was to show the years of practice in loosing for the leafs fans (since 2004) While Canucks have had relative success. So we were not used to loosing. Hence the riot. But maybe now that we are "winner of 13th overall pick" we could go on a 10 year loosing skid then maybe when we make the playoffs and are up 3-1 in the 3rd period of game 7 and end up losing we wont riot and understand that we suck and should not have been in the playoffs to begin with. Good luck in the playoffs this year. Since you have already made it and obviously don't need to play the rest of the season.

I'm really intrigued to watch this
Ovechkin-Malkin-Semin line.

Talk about fire power and pure scoring ability.

Still not sure how Buffalo got the win in SJ...

Oh yeah, that's right... horrible reffing that missed a puck going into the goal in OT and a war-room that didn't notice. Still bitter, yes... thanks! Sharks could use that extra point and W right about now.

meh

all of the big teams are gonna have a lethal top 6.

parise, kessel, kane...

Crosby, Tavares, st.louis...

sedin, backstrom, Zetterberg...

even the Czechs with krejci, michalek, hanzal etc is nothing to sneeze at

it's depth down on the 3rd and 4th line and bottom pairing defence that sets some of these teams apart

It's the ice follies over there, he can score at will if he wants to. Just depends if he cares on that given night. Expect a monster performance in the Olympics. His first real taste of competition since he left the NHL.

you completely outplayed the oilers recently...

if it wasn't for scrivens play recently, I don't think we're on the mini roll we are. and are certainly the worst team in the league.

the difference between calgary and buffalos defence compared to ours is actually pretty big

Hate to say it (as a Sharks fan), but the line I'm most interested in is

Tavares - Getzlaf - Perry

I will say that Buffalo has definately been playing a tigher game(as a whole) since Nolan took over.....while we're still losing pretty frequently, they don't look like they're in complete dissarray!

(minus the big losses to Pitt. and Col.....theyre just too much for us to handle. Buff. held it's own through 1st period against Pens. but that was about it)

I'm sure there'll be tons of line juggling early to try and find chemistry. as well as a couple of the guys ridin pine more than they'd like just due to roster space.

but I was kinda under the impression that Jamie benn'll be alongside those two (getzlaf-perry) to start. that'd be a beast of a line.

with Tavares stayin at his natural center between two speed demons like Duchene and marleau.

kunitz, Crosby, st.louis
benn, getzlaf, perry
nash, toews, sharp
marleau, Tavares, Duchene
Bergeron --(pk-faceoffs)
carter

having 3rd and 4th lines that good is disgusting. as I mentioned earlier, all the big teams have ridiculous top 6's like us. it's those bottom lines that are so much superior

Maybe they intend for Bergeron to be taking a regular shift? I would have figured the Cs to be Crosby, Getz, Toews and JT. Perhaps they moved JT to the wing to open up the 4th line C spot for Bergy? Or maybe they want to utilize Duchene's speed at C?

I'll be really interested to see what Babs plan in vs what his lines look like after the game against Finland.

I'd be shocked if Marleau isn't the healthy though.

This is what TSN has:

Chris Kunitz - Sidney Crosby - Jeff Carter
Patrick Sharp - Jonathan Toews - Rick Nash
Patrick Marleau - Ryan Getzlaf - Corey Perry
Jamie Benn - John Tavares - Patrice Bergeron

I still think it's hilarious he made the team over some of the other options. With that said, I think it's probably because they want his speed to play on the big ice in defensive situations (PK) only.

I have no problem with Bergeron taking a regular shift. not nearly enough people give him his due. top couple two way players in the world. I just was kinda thinkin roster space, and maybe use him in a defensive role. dunno though.

maybe I just got some hate for carter cause I don't think he belongs there. but id put marleaus speed in the top 12 over him all day long.
id love to see marleau and Duchene on opposite wings on a line.

judging by that other dudes post, looks like they were practicing with carter on the first alongside Crosby. yzerman/babcock must have a hard on for jeff I guess.

st.louis and Duchene sitting huh? that's a lot of speed to bench.
read somewhere it was babcock who didn't want st.loo..hmmm

I really love that 3rd line. 2nd looks good too.

not sure it's a good or bad thing we're getting two pushovers to start as far as bein ready when we face stiffer competition.
but one thing nice is we got two games that we can experiment and really move stuff around without TOO MUCH worry of losing

it's okay, winning 13 cups makes it easier to forget the bad stretches that every team goes through. pity you can't do the same.

Looks like Bergeron is slated to play the wing with Tavares and Benn. I'm sure Bergeron will take a majority of the defensive zone face-offs and be on the top PK unit. I imagine he will get 10-12 minutes a night.

Brodeur best goalie of all time? I don't think so. He's only ever played for the defensively minded Devils.

I'd offer up Patrick Roy instead given the two teams he has played for played different styles and he performed well for both.

And I'm a Leafs fan too!

I thought oiler fans claimin on the dynasty in the 80's was bad. but at least a good deal of them and other posters were alive to see it.

what are you like 80?

congrats on the 5 cups in the 1940's.
