There's a player on the USA women's team named Bozek. I wonder if she's freeloading off Amanda. |

He has 4 game winners which is tied for 25th... Being 2nd in goal scoring with 30, apparently he doesn't know how to score them, in fact an argument could be made he scores a lot of meaningless goals. - Scooby_Doo
I hope this isn't a real stab at logic. |

Wasn't there a diving penalty called on a Leafs player tonight? |

Mason Raymond. You'll have to excuse him, he used to be a Canuck.

Shut down Henrik/Tanev/Bieksa until they're definitely 100% healthy after the break.....#TankNation Could finish with the 6th worst record if everything goes according to plan.

Looking at the standings we'd currently pick 10th overall. The best we could do is 6th....unless we went like 4/22 at the very best. |

Picking 6-10th in a weak draft will not change this team's fortunes. If changes aren't made we'll be in a similar spot next season. |

I'm thinking we will be anyways. Thanks to gillis and AV's collective efforts to ruin prospects. |

6th in even a weak draft sill has potential to be a future core piece IMO. Best case scenario is a top 10 pick plus another 1st(prefer 2015) or good prospect/young player acquired in a trade for our of the core guys. |

Too long of a time frame for all that to come together. And you're assuming all of those picks come good and fulfill their potential. If Gillis is committing to keep most of this core (I'm assuming) then we're better served supplementing them with young talent that's closer to making an impact than draft picks. |

I agree for sure, I said the other day that trading for players that have shown flashes that they can play in the NHL is the way to go, but I'd still be excited with the 6th or 7th pick in this draft to boot. |

I seem to be different from most on this site as I don't get excited whatsoever by draft picks. Too many of them never pan out to expectations and if they do, only do so after some years. I only get excited by a prospect when they start to show some something at the NHL level. |

Nothing wrong with having a 6 or so pick this year. I'm not holding my breath that will happen but one can hope. |

Need to have picks to draft players. Need to have drafted players to develop, need to have prospects, need to have nhl ready prospects. Even if 1 out of 5 gives an nhl player that is still an asset. |

But 6th gives us a 6.2% chance of winning the draft lottery, 1st overall baby.

I understand how the NHL works but with the majority of picks never making it to become impact NHL players, including a slew of top 10 picks, you'll allow me to not wet my drawers until I've seen them show something that can actually contribute to the team. |

Yeah, optimism is low based on past. That's understandable. Law of averages suggests we are due though lol |

Saw this at HF:
"Fun fact: Daniel Sedin has made $1.34 million since he last scored a goal.
And even that goal wasn't one he shot in the net. It went off the other team's player and in"

I feel bad for Henrik, he'll take half the heat just because they're twins, but he's way better IMO. |
