Henrik is every bit of a 7 million dollar center, top three in points since the lockout, they are not even comparible players.

Daniel, not so much.

Correction, was worth it.

I'm comparing the two players in the present tense. So what you're saying is, if Henrik was to currently come to the Leafs Carlye wouldn't have him on the top line with Kessel and JVR? Honest answer.
- LeftCoaster

Henrik is clearly the better player.

Better yesterday.

Better today.

But looking at age and contracts (length and $), it's not crazy for Leafs fans to pause and wonder if they would rather keep Bozak in a straight trade.

I would do the deal in a heartbeat.

Kulemin is a third line plug like Booth, you usually put your best center with your best wingers, unless you're like the Canucks and you don't have any?

you dont watch much leafs hockey either do you

A decline from his PPG pace of years prior.

Especially the more recent you get into that 100 game window. Trends and patterns of a declining player are best left unignored.

I think it's fairly well understood that players decline with age, unless you're Benjamin Button. That said, Hank is still a productive player in the league. One year does not make a career.

Of course... that's just a relatively convenient place given our current global positions.

I'm English... we pioneered this "royal blood" poop

B.S.

The Sedins don't rely on speed or physicality, it's all about hockey sense and passing. Due to those attributes their decline wont be nearly as severe as you say.

Furthermore, if Torts was capable of establishing even a decent powerplay the twins would be at or above a PPG pace, as they usually are.

- Whiskey-Tango

I never said severe. They're already declining. That much is obvious to everyone but you apparently.

If you put Henrik with Kessel he would score 50 goals at ease.
If he can get Daniel and Kesler up to 40 goals you don't think that is unreasonable, seeing as how Kessel is head and shoulders above those two in scoring ability?

- Whiskey-Tango

it's possible, but line chemistry is a weird entity and Kessel is a unique winger that doesnt mesh with just any talent...he is who he is, not taking anything away from H...H b/w Lupul and Kulemin would be a better chemistry IMO

Never said he wasn't.

The discussion was more about how productive of a player he is and expected to be.

With the exception of two highend production years, which most better offensive players have, he was and is a 70+ point player. I'll take that all day long for a center in todays NHL. Who was the last Leaf center with a 75 point season?

Great player! Point being, just because Hank doesn't score 112 points a year because he did it once, doesn't make him a non valueable asset. The guys a great player. I know it's hard for some to believe, but Daniel and Henrik are two separate players. One is greater than the other.
