No. We would agree. We wanted it more than we wanted to do what the Canucks are doing. Battling for 9th with an old, aging and declining roster.

I don't think a team would still be old after 8 years of utter failure, but I digress. I've wasted enough time overreacting to something said on the internet. Back to Imgur!

You guys have been lucky to be able to use that, but your time is up! Time to pass the torch. Maybe tonight's pregame ceremony will involve Phaneuf passing the torch of suckiness to Sedin. It's OUR time.

You got me! I've been complaining quite a lot about it here. Sorry.

It's OK, Toronto has complained more about Dave Bolland than Tampa Bay did about Stamkos.

Failure and tanking are two very, very seperate scenarios. The Sabres are tanking. The Canucks are failing. The Flames are tanking. The Oilers are tanking, moved up to failing, and are now back to tanking. The Islanders are failing, and will soon go back to tanking. The Devils are failing.

If only.

This roster still has a lot of loser years left in it.

It's really funny how many hockey media guys were completely duped by the Senators. I couldn't believe how many of them had Ottawa finishing just behind Boston in the division this season. A few seasons ago everyone predicted they would finish near last in the conference, instead they had a Cinderella season where everything went right for them, and rather than recognizing a fluke, everyone started to fawn over them. This is essentially the same team everyone expected to finish last a few seasons ago with the exception of Alfreddson and Ryan.

maybe not you, but your blogger/fellow fans have thrown around the injury card pretty frequently.

I think it has a lot more to do with the Sedins being 60 pt players instead of 100 pt guys, and Kesler being a 50 pt guy as opposed to a 70-75 guy. That's a big decline in production

On the upswing though. Opposite of the Canucks. I just hope Gillis isn't dumb enough to think this team can still win. If he is, hopefully he's fired. Draft lottery or bust.

It's the Sends...Someone had to feel good about them...Other than predictions of greatness no one would know they existed except when the Leafs came to town..

I think Kesler can still be the player people expect him to be. The Sedins on the other hand, are definitely hitting their twilight years. They could be an excellent second line but can no longer carry the offensive load. Good thing they just got a raise.

There's plenty of evidence to suggest that Gillis has no clue how to assess a situation (see: Luongo trade). He's plenty dumb enough.

They don't have the amazing goaltending they got last year, that's the main difference. Anderson's season was a once in a lifetime season.
