That's a give in at this point. The fact that some fans need more proof that new management is a necessity for this team at this point is funny to me. How much more do some of you need to see(not saying you)? I don't get it? "This yr Snow has to do something", common quote from one of his biggest fans on here. Says the same thing every May or June and he'll be saying the same thing this yr and guess what? There will be the same results and guess what? That same clown will be saying the same thing next offseason bcs some people are just facking stupid, especially the ones that think they're smart. In no year does Snow "have to do something". He will find a way to plug holes like he always does due to him getting zero respect from ANYONE in the league when it comes to signing players or trading with other GM's. Nobody believes in "his vision" because it's BS and they shouldn't. He can't sign people due to NOBODY wanting to play for him or his boss and not believing in his plan. WTF has Snow done for any player to believe they're going to win if they come to the island? I'm sure Snow tried to sell Vanek his "plan", how'd that work out? Why would a competitive player EVER want to come here with this GM and coach? These guys don't know how to win. There's reaons why these players don't come here and they are primarily ones that none of us want to believe, I get why some fans fabricate excuses when the reasons are right in front of their faces. Snow is inept in every aspect of his job besides holding onto prospects, THAT"S IT! Accept that.
Drafting and building from within in itself is a great plan. Doing it the way Snow has is not. There's no plan, it's constantly subject to change and overreaction. Look no further than our last draft for proof. Woops, forgot to draft defenseman so I'm going to use every pick this yr for just that! lol. One of the many bush league, moronic things piled upon the countless other ridiculous things he's done. Some fans will try to reason with the thought process which at times is comical to watch. If you have to figure out why someone did something chances are it was a stupid move to begin with. All of these "things"=no respect from around the league. It's not some conspiracy against the Islanders like they'd like you to believe it's because they are a bunch of clowns and don't/shouldn't warrant respect from their own fan base let alone the rest of the league. "When an opportunity presents itself to improve the team we will". Direct quote from Snow, when does this happen? Still waiting... Certainly didn't happen this past offseason and every one of us should expect more of the same this one.
So yeah a new GM is in order to say the least. - Cptmjl
So do you think Snow needs a new assistant?

Put it this way- what GM would NOT have fired THIS coach by now? Even if you like most of what Snow has done from a management standpoint- this team has been f***ed since November, and it has been abundantly clear to the average layman what most of the problem is. Why is he still here? If you can't find a trade to make, can't find anything else at all to do to improve the team (though why the he11 you would send Strome back down so Regin could play is beyond my comprehension), you can always replace the guy behind the bench....at least that's something. At least that's a wake up call to the 23 guys at practice that you're done with their nonsense. Nothing. Nada. This is why I wouldn't shed a tear if Wang got rid of the whole lot of them, not just Capuano- I just harp on Capuano, because that is SO glaringly obvious, it is just stunning that it has not happened yet. |

This is why many have a problem with Garth. He trades for Vanek and then lets the season fall apart in November without doing anything. How does that make sense? |

Injuries.. that is the reasoning.. I am not saying its right.. because I dont like Cappy for this job anyhow... But he wont be fired because he went most of the season down a few (important) D-men, and his Goalie. That mixed with the team making the playoffs last season has given Cappy a pass this year. None of us like it.. but that's the reality of it.

Lou Lamoriello (for an example of a professionally run organization) doesn't roll that way- that's why his teams aren't crap every year. |

Even tho some of the blame belongs to Snow, but its even more to blame Wang bc it seems like Isles rather not pay big $$$ on a professional NHL coach. That's why unfortunately Weight is next in line "which is not the answer either" but
lack of coaching exp + low salary= next coach in line......
Until money is spent in all parts of this organization, Isles will continue to fail..... |

I understand the excuse, but I don't buy it. I believe a good solid coach would be able to get more out of this squad. A real coach reacts to injuries and makes adjustments. No offense, but I think the injury excuse is a load of facking bull crap. |

Well you can say its Wang's fault for hiring Snow but after that it 100% falls on snow from the coach to the players. He is the GM. Its his fault. Why do islander fans have a problem with this concept? Any other fan of any other team must look at comments on this thread and piss themselves. The constant excuse making for Snow is mind boggling. Its worse than the excuse making by Snow himself. Facking ridiculous. |

You'd be right for thinking that. Injuries are a reality if every sport. Good teams and well run teams make adjustments for them. Happens every year to every team. |

I'm no Snow supporter and have criticized him on numerous occasions. But some blame has to go to Wang as well.... that was my point
