and still no D or goalies
- Vukota

So we'd probably have the same record as this year.

Someone just slides to the wing. Can never have too many great centers.

We could be the first team with three top centers in the entire league to finish last overall.

The way I look at if the Rangers could trade Dubinksy Animsov and a pick and get Rick Nash then we can get the world for the players we have to trade,. There is no excuse anymore with Garth. I don't want to see just draft picks coming back

The only thing "coming back" will be more excuses. You know that, I know that, and anyone with a half a brain knows it.

I am sick of that though. Enough. We had a real owner with a real GM we would have a decent club and great players

I saw the actual interview. He said he was weeks away from being in the shape he usually is. Which when you think about it makes perfect sense since he was out almost 3 months
- Vukota

He also said that he "understands and respects the Isles concerns in preserving his long term health".

Personally I question how you can allow him to play in the NHL and not the Olympics but hey, in the end he's Isles property like it or not.

Well that's a whole different thing if that's what he said. It is a little strange that it's ok to play in the nhl but not the Olympics. Tack on to that what I said earlier about hamonic playing that game on Friday and this sounds like it has all the makings for another Islander/player disaster. Maybe it's nothing but maybe we will be missing one of the few legit nhl players we have on our blue line next season?

I hate to do this Bcs it means I'll be agreeing with Dee but I'm not a fan of the NHL players in the Olympics. Shutting down the league for three weeks to me is stupid. Factor in the risk of injury. I liked the Olympics bfr the nhl players infiltrated it. I liked the no name guys making a name for themselves. To me it was more of an even playing field and with that it was more exciting. I guess I'm in the minority with this thinking?

I hate it as well. Granted the medal round will be fun to watch but no other league shuts down for 3 weeks right in the thick of the season

Well I guess with us being islander fans there really isn't a "thick" of a season again for us but if we had a shot for the playoffs I'd be pissed. Yeah the medal round will be cool but I'll never get these guys being under contract and playing in the Olympics for three weeks? If I were an owner I would've voted against it. Just one of many things I don't like about it.

I think they said this will be it. You know one big name is going down with an injury

Arthur Staple ‏@StapeNewsday 18m

One last bit of #Isles news: Frans Nielsen suffered a broken hand on slash from Avs D Erik Johnson on Saturday. Non-displaced fracture.

Arthur Staple ‏@StapeNewsday 17m

So Nielsen may be able to play 2/27. More likely he'll miss the first week of #Isles games after Olympic break.

That could really mess up our playoff push!

He'll have the stick boy and all of the fans activate to the rear of the offensive net. That ought to fix it.
