Sutter isn't used to match a scoring line. He's the only respectable player on the bottom six but is misused so is essentially expendable. Sutter will be a RFA in 2014 but nobody on the bottom six should be back next season.

Shero would have a good, long time to extend Girardi. Orpik, Niskanen, and Engelland will be playing elsewhere next season; Martin the year after.

I expect Shero to acquire a rental RW for the first line and it to backfire.

Just stop. You make zero sense. We are playing loads of forwards that should be in the AHL. Sutter is the ONLY competent forward in the bottom six. He is a solid, not great, two-way forward. We have zero secondary scoring too boot. Shero has made it known that Pittsburgh is going to be strong up the middle with a three-center deal. So, you want to move Jokinen away from Neal and Geno as the third center, or do you want Craig Adams at third center?

While you want a healthy Letang playing, Pittsburgh has been down this road many times before. He has missed 70 games over the last 2.5 years. Pittsburgh has actually played better without him defensively. We have Despres who can step in and fill the void. Why move a forward, when you have zero capable forwards on the third and fourth lines for another defenseman when you have guys that can fill the void? It's not exactly rocket science here champ.
