Lehkonen will not resign with Kalpa. Good news because Kalpa is a terrible team. No reports yet as to what are his intentions. He will be a popular name at the CHL Import draft this summer, that's for sure. He's injured right now, but will most likely get a PTO with the Bulldogs for the remainder of the year like Collberg last season.

It will be interesting to see where he will play next year. If he joins the Dogs, that would add another name to the potential list of guys turning pro/coming from Europe (Nevins, Vail, Thrower, Hudon, Bozon, De La Rose, Collberg, Nygren, Bennett, Didier, MacMillan).

Lehkonen has been taken by the Kootenay Ice (WHL) at the last import draft. I don't know if that carries on for next season. Same with De La Rose, who is the property of the Windsor Spitfires (OHL)

DLR wanted to come to the CHL this season, and Bergevin seemed pretty inclined to make him cross the pond. I'd love to see him play in the CHL next season and gain confidence in his offensive skills but he's already strong and fast enough to play in the AHL. Both could be good options for him.

Piqueur, the rights always remain to the team, no matter what year it is. That said team can chose to release him, the player then goes through waivers, if he's not claimed, he re-enters the draft.

That actually used to be the rule, the guy who informed me is unsure if it's still the case. If not, if a team releases a player, he goes straight back to the draft.

I doubt that will happen with a high-profile euro like Lehkonen.
