They seem to be scouting each other too heavily for a minor swap...Oilers brass in Philly and now the Philly chiefs up seeing the Oilers in Newark....that's a lot of scouting.

What i was saying teams don't do all that much homework with a minor trade, its reminiscent when Nash was on the market.

Well, I think if you can get a guy like Klefbom out if it, or a sniper for Giroux, you listen.

Huh...they're in Newark tonight? Wow.

If they had pulled the trigger on something earlier in the season, I could see it more then than I do now.

I don't see where the fit would be, for both sides, as far as value goes -- I do think the Oilers are going to move Sam Gagner, so I have little doubt they'd have interest in Baby Schenn...but the only guy on their roster who kinda fits what we need for a guy like Schenn would be Justin Schultz, and they aren't going to want to give him up...

Earlier in the year, when both teams were struggling, I thought they could've done a few things. But now, I honestly don't see the fit, for how people on the Flyers have progressed.

Yep, Agreed. You don't often see GM's watching each other's teams if they haven't been talking

There is merit in what you point out about a running mate for G. The Flyers made serious runs at Parise and Nash. Voracek is a nice winger, but an elite scoring winger with Hartnell doing the dirty work in the corners could really be something special.

Flyers still need mobility on the back end, Schultz and Jeff Petry have that. I'd be interested in dealing with Edmonton, I think outside of Scrivens, they've made a few questionable deals lately

Brilliant. Hang onto a guy long enough to go through the growing pains, and when he's starting to really start to fulfill his promise, trade him....to go through the growing pains of the other young center who's done well in the CHL

Trade Laughton keep Brayden

You already have a defensive minded C in Coots, need some offense besides Giroud down the middle.

Huh. If they could pry Schultz out of there...be interesting to see what he would bring to a team that has every expectation of winning, as opposed to being mired in losing.

He'd be an interesting guy, no doubt -- but that's gonna cost at least Baby Schenn off the hop

It was 3.3 total, as in 1.1 a year for 3 years.

That really doesn't answer the question. Normally a trade is made because you feel a deal makes your team better. Which I'm all for if it's available. But I don't want any player traded just because.

Or keep both and don't make a deal just because it fills a need this second.
