Meszaros and Gill should be our new top pair.

My dad worked a full day of climbing trees and carrying 200+ pound logs with a broken foot. That's because my dad's the man. That still amazes me.

Its amazing what I see.. the pain tolerance some have is literally borderline supernatural.

We had a kid break his leg (fibula, which is non-weightbearing and plays a part in this) early in the first quarter of a Penn Football game.. He didnt pull himself out until mid way through the third quarter. Insane.

It's a shame. Any sort of luck with injuries and we probably win the Cup that season.

He might be traded after they pay him his $2m 16-17 signing bonus. Some cap floor team can get a $5.25m cap hit and only have to pay him $2m in salary.

Does that take powerplays into consideration?

Probably, but the disparity maybe isn't as drastic as it seems because Schenn gets zero powerplay time. I'm not even sure how much pk time he gets.

Luke Schenn is playing a good amount of tough minutes on the PK, and is playing it well.

Schenn had been playing more (it seems) over the last few games. I think he had some big-minute games on the WC trip.

It all depends on whether or not the NHL decides to crack down on the "battleaxe to the head" penalties or not. They've already banned warhammers from the game, which limits his effectivess.

Man, the sissification of the NHL continues. I assume morningstars are still legal to carry on the ice?

For me...I see it the other way -- with the Flyers penalized as much as they are/can be, for Schenn to still be under 16 minutes a night...that says a lot about his 5v5 usage.

Without having the numbers in front of me, but knowing that Grossmann gets a metric poop-ton of defensive zone starts, and Streit's been his partner for, what...40-ish games now...I'd guess that Streit has tougher starts, overall, than Schenn does. Might not be by much, but Streit's not making all of that up on the PP, since he's on the 2nd unit.

That team seems cursed.
I hope Letang is ok that is horrible news

You can't play hockey on blood thinners
He will need to get the septal defect in his heart fixed before playing again

What I'm saying is him coming back in six weeks seems way too optimistic

Yup, seems quite reasonable to me.

You think he's a 10-15 goal 3rd line player?

Obviously he's pretty good defensively and on the pk. And if I'm Berube, and for some reason I'm thinking about Downie instead of Read on our 2nd PP unit, I'm giving Raffl a shot instead.

Luke Schenn plays more at ES per game then Timonen does.

Look, Schenn's minutes being down this year are his own fault. He came in and wasn't ready to play in the early Season. The Coaches went with a rotation that has been the same all year petty much. Schenn has improved as the year has gone on, but enough to significantly change the rotation and minutes played overall.

Yes, in most of the European leagues. The AHL is experimenting with the banning of poison daggers. Results have been mixed at best.

yeah 10-15 easy. I'm guessing they could form a super shutdown line of Raffl-Cooter-Read in the playoffs. But I've liked Raffl on the 1st line, liked him on the 4th line. He's been the same effective player anywhere. So really it doesn't matter how you view where he fits, he can plug in anywhere it seems. What a good player
