Better to go with Moulson...at least there is a.chance to resign him...Vane is Minny bound in the Offseason.
- IonSabres

Moulson has also state he wants to test the market

specter is a douche. he spent the entire canucks-oilers game the other week talking about how we're not big enough and don't have enough depth beyond hall, ebs etc.
true insider/expert knowledge

it's more fun to pretend that we're all expecting doughty back so the haters can say haha I told u so..derp.
but we're not.

one of those big plugger forwards that give us some tools we don't have, plus a decent add in seems reasonable

- hugefemale dog77

Exactly.

The deal on the table is Gagner at 50% retained salary for Clifford + a draft pick?

How does it make sense to pay Clifford 3.75 a year (his salary + half of Gagner's) and send Gagner at a bargain contract to LA?

It's not like we're asking for the moon, just not the worst deal you could possibly think of.

Vanek = prima dona and "grim reaper"
- Der Kaiser

this comment makes absolutely no sense

Among other talents, Vanek is also one of the best in the league at parking himself infront of the net and redirecting passes...all the while taking a beating from the D men cross checking him.

I've notices even more so how important that was since he has left Buffalo, I'll find myself watching a power play opportunity and there are often ZERO players parked out front, none...either afraid to take the beating or just too stupid to figure out thats where someone needs to be.

Protip for MacT: If the player you're acquiring played in the ECHL during the lockout, don't trade Gagner for him.

If Anaheim wants to move John Gibson Vanek will be a Duck by Friday, isles will have to retain some salary or take some one back with at most a year left on the deal.

These deadline deals are always a risk for a big splash player, Anaheim is a legit cup contender and if they think add TV will put them over the top that's a risk you have to take. If you win a cup it's all worth it.

Now that would be perfect!!! ANOTHER HIGH PICK SPENT ON A FORWARD....are the Oilers purposely trying to draft 1st or 2nd for the rest of the decade? You have a crying need at D. But take a forward....again...lmfao

u are quickly proving to be one the dumbest posters on the boards

nurse-first round
klefbom-first round

so in terms of our lottery picks;

no gm in their right mind takes any dman before hall. that hasn't changed 3 years on.
or maybe ur suggesting Larsson over nuge??

the only one we could make a case for is murray over yaks.
either way, he was out all of last year and wouldn't be making much difference for this team right now.
long term is still up in the air

terribly offbase post

So some people actually pay money for these rumors? e5 to detroit for e3 to moosejaw to hype, hype, hype. Throw a bunch of names and teams at the wall and see what sticks. Or is it...we need more webhits, lets fire up that Kadri rumor mill to get the leafs fans going and ooohh contract talks have broken off with PK Subban and the Habs....PK to the Flyers e11.

Marincin 46th
Musil 31st
Adding Larsen, Fedun, Gernat, Schultz. "Haven't drafted any Dmen" is becoming code for "I don't follow the Oilers but am willing to talk about them"

Gagner can score, he's just struggling after coming back from that broken jaw. On a good team like LA he could be pretty good, and LA can't score goals for the life of them.

But I stil get the feeling all Eklund is doing here is taking tweets from other people, writing a quick paragraph blog and keeping it so vague that it sounds like it's coming from him. I could have written this same blog with my "sources", and by sources I mean twitter.

Would either of you really take Reinhart over Ekblad? It doesn't even seem close in my books.

this

he actually made that same handicap post the other day on another thread. and I came back with marincin, gernat, musil etc

so he retorted with taking dman INSIDE the first round

I guess he didn't see my retort of nurse and klefbom

he really knows his stuff...

depends on team needs, if nashville were to draft first, i am sure they would have to go with reinhart, but pretty much every other team it would be ekblad

Gagner is nothing more than a guy who shoots his load in a two-week stretch and then goes silent for five months. I don't see how he helps the Kings at all.

Sure.

How much salary is Pittsburgh retaining for the overpaid injury prone product of playing with Sid and Geno?

I said this two days ago and I still think it makes sense for all teams involved:

To ANA: Thomas Vanek and Andrew MacDonald
To NYI: G John Gibson, OTT 1st Round Pick, ANA 2nd Round Pick, Prospect

Mark Spector ‏@SportsnetSpec 6m

Warning you, Oil fans: When dealing small C who does't win draws, is below avg. def'ly, with $4.8 AAV, you're not going to like the return

- Symba007

Spector is a moron, but I don't think he's too far off in Gagner's valuation here.

I think that's more than fair both ways. NHL 14 just accepted it.
