MacDonald has been playing 25+mins for a couple of years now and is always among the top shot blockers in the league. MacDonald on a team with a deeper defense will be better, he gets exposed because he plays at a top-pair dman for the Isles when he is probably a low-3 or 4 defenseman at best. Is a good passer and has a good shot but doesnt hit the net enough.

People say he is worth a 1st...
I highly doubt that. If the Isles could get a 2nd, id be pleasantly suprised.

losing vanek will hurt but its there are guys that can step up and lessen the hurt.

isles need a goalie, top 4 dman and a coach and they will be in the playoffs. (barring any major injuries)
