Really like what Gustafsson brings. No reason at this point why he should come out of the lineup. He adds mobility to the lineup.

I agree. He'll be man handled by bigger forwards every once in a while, but its just something they need to accept.

He'll never get better at that aspect unless they play him and let him learn.

I don't think he's that suspect in his own end. Even if he isn't the best flyer in his own end, doesn't mean I wouldn't call him their best Dman. But I think he has gotten more comfortable with this team in his own end. He's been sensational over the past 2 months.

Funny how you say that and one of the responses is that he leaves his defense partner out to dry.

Amazing how one player is perceived. The guy who is actually playing well is dragging down the guy who hasn't been. But if Streit weren't playing well, the other guy would be....being dragged down by Streit.

Poor Mark Streit -- his defense partner can't seem to play well, no matter what he does or doesn't do

If you watch the games, Streit will join the rush and leave his partner vulnerable sometimes.

I'm not arguing Streit hasn't been good. I'm arguing that he's not our best defenseman.

That's the job of an offensive dman. If he wasn't doing that, we'd have a problem.

I know. Like I said, I;m not saying he's a bad player. I'm saying he's not our best defenseman.

Exactly. Thats what the game is now. We are out of the 90's. Dmen join the rush and you have a forward circle back.

I know. You get the feeling the only way the Flyers will score is off the rush.

It was for much of the 2nd period, could probably expect the Avs to push it in the 3rd.

Give that man a contract.

I know. I was explaining why a guy like Streit has many more even strength points than Timonen. He's an offensive defenseman and will join the rush. He leaves his team vulnerable sometimes.

Timonen plays against top lines. It would be undisciplined to join the rush a lot and leave a forward to defend the ensuing rush of top line players.
