Flyers played a strong period. Colorado is supposed to be a pretty fast team. Which team looked faster that period? Flyers are supposed to be a slow team. I say BS. When the Flyers are up on their skates, they're not a slow team. They certainly play slow at times, but they aren't slow.

Yeah definitely. Flyers forecheck in that frame was outstanding.

Well I would disagree with that. He's suspect in his own end. He's the teams best defenseman in the offensive zone and with the puck, but not overall. Mark Streit is a pretty good player with the puck. Without the puck, not so good.
- MJL

I don't think he's that suspect in his own end. Even if he isn't the best flyer in his own end, doesn't mean I wouldn't call him their best Dman. But I think he has gotten more comfortable with this team in his own end. He's been sensational over the past 2 months.

A poor reaction but Laughton did hit him a bit late. That player got a beating by the hands of former Flyers draft pick Cullen Sullentrop.
- ob18

Laughton has a PP assist, SH assist, a fight and a cross check to the back of the head.

All in a day's work, right?

The defense, with the exception of Coburn and Gus, when he plays, is slow. Of that there is zero doubt

3rd game in 4 nights for Colorado. Would like to have a larger lead but yes a good period by the flyers.

Slow start, but they played a very strong 2nd period. Mason has been fantastic.

I do agree that his overall play has gotten better, and he has been adequate in his own end. His offensive game has picked up and Streit has done exactly what he was brought in to do. But I think calling him sensational is a bit much.

Every team has some slower players, and I would agree. But as a team you can play faster. And the Flyers showed how in that 2nd period.

Wanna see them skate hard in the first 5 minutes. Don't let the Avs get any hope to build on.

I agree. It would be nice to have more speed though. There are several times when Gus' speed and skill in the transition game is evident.

Really like what Gustafsson brings. No reason at this point why he should come out of the lineup. He adds mobility to the lineup.

He's very good at being able to shoot hard and accurate. Kimmo can get pucks through but doesn't have the power Streit's shot has. It makes a world of difference.
