I don't think the NHL will be comfortable sending players to Korea, who has 2022?

But they were comfortable sending them to Sochi, Russia?

More likely that they stop going just because of money. The biggest impediment to the Sochi agreement was the owners - they're never pleased at having to pay guys through the Olympics and not getting anything for the break. They might use the location as an excuse but that will be the real reason.

Come to think of it, it's probably not a coincidence that they decided to up the outdoor games to 6 (which even the NHL now admits was excessive) in an Olympic year.

Pay them during the Olympics or pay them after the Olympics, what does it matter? If a guy has a $6M contract, he's going to get his $6M whether he's paid during the Olympic break or after. If this is really the issue then the players should agree to not get paid over the break as they will still get their full amount regardless

Lies I tell you haha! Face it he is a great all around player. He was seriously our best player in the LA series last year. He gives 100% all the time.

He may have been added bc of Hitch favour but end of the day there are way too many more skilled forward or Defensive Forwards that would be ahead of him. we would have to have 5 injurys for him to be in the conversation.

It would be the biggest media and fan backlash if he was named over other people

Since when did the team Canada Gms care about media backlash? See MSL, Giroux, Hall, etc being passed up already. They want to win games not please the media.

that, and there is a roster limit. We should have an A and a B squad, and sadly the B squad would win

No NHLer will be there in 2018....

I wouldn't say that yet. The NHL owners may not want to go, but they'll have to get past the NHLPA in order to stop them. It's like Tavares (pretty sure it was him) said, the biggest achievement for the players as NHLers is to win the cup, the biggest achievement for them as athletes is to compete in the olympics. These guys want to play for Canada so the NHL is going to have to somehow convince them otherwise.
