When the games are over, the city will turn into another Chernobyl. 2012 Greece 2004 is another good example of an abandoned Olympic village.

almost every Olympics village and venues are completely abandon and overgrown...

Why does everyone talk about Girgensons like he's the next Mark Messier? I watched him all last year in Rochester and he couldn't score. He stick handles with his head down. Drafted as a center but can't play center. I've been watching hockey since the late 70s and I've seen Gretzky play live 237 times, sorry but I'm not impressed at all with Girgensons. Working hard is great but to win a cup you need to have high end talent that works hard. In my opinion the guy is a 15 goal scorer at best. Is that what you want with first round picks? I wouldn't say anything but the Sabres market this guy like he's the next great one. I'm not impressed very easy, sorry but my opinion.

The guys on WGR said they wouldn't trade Girgensons for McKinnon.... Lol. Something in the water in buffalo

Tim Murray on GR just said.

Teams are not saying they want to get stuff done before the olympic deadline, but their actions speak louder than words. Lots of phone calls over the last 24 hours.

Please don't send him to Anaheim...I keep hearing the rumors. I like him, but I'd like him more if he had 3-4 years left on his contract as opposed to giving up picks and prospects for a rental.

Hiller is playing very good hockey... I don't see that happening...

About a month ago it was confirmed that we offered Miller for John Gibson and a 1st but it was turned down.

He's worth more than just a 15-goal scorer, though. He does more than just that.

Now, to say you wouldn't trade him for MacKinnon is just plain stupid!!

If he goes to a contender I would have thought that the chances of him resigning are quite high. Especially in CA.

Miller has been rumored to want to be closer to "home" and with his wife in LA, it would make sense. He may take less to play in Anaheim. My opinion is that it's an upgrade over Hiller in terms of consistency. He could be a difference maker down the stretch and with a solid team in front of him, Anaheim would be even tougher to beat.

Meh, but apparently Miller is the type who will "take a team over the top!", despite never having accomplished that. I'm not sure he's ever won anything other than personal achievements. It doesn't appear he's won any kind of hockey championships anywhere from college on.

Good blog, but I don't think it's worth even debating that Ryan Miller is USA's starter.

Neither of those other guys can hold a candle to what he's done this season or in the past internationally.

The powers that be in USA front office have always said Quick is their guy.

Of course you would trade him for McKinnon . Not many others though . Have you watched this kid play lately . Last year in the AHL he was a boy playing against men . By the playoffs he was the Amerks best player. I take it , that you are just trying to stir things up in here . Because your opinion on Girgensons is way off at this point.

Probably every other year and have the locations rotate between the "Hockey Hotbeds" of Canada, USA, Russia, Sweden, Finland, etc. Maybe even take it to places like Japan to build the game even further.

I don't remember specifically but I know that the Ottawa Sun and Bruce Garrioch said it for sure doing a quick google search.

All. Bettman prefers a "World Cup" over the Olympics. I think Toronto would be a good 1st city, and they could keep it to the Summer Olympic years in February.
