Really?
Stewart, Jaskin, another prospect, and a 2nd for a couple of months of Callahan?
Dude, what are you smoking?
Honestly, if the Blues trade Stewart for Callahan straight up I would be disappointed. (unless there is already an extension in place) Stewart is worth more than a 2 month rental of any NHL player. - carcus
I think you read that wrong...Stewert and Jaskin FOR Cally , a 2nd and a prospect.
Certain Blues fans are unrealiatic ( we could all be accused of it as well)...want to bring in a high quality player to push the team over the top but don't want to pay value for it. I think grabbing Miller who will play 60 minutes a night coupled with playing behind that D means that you have closed the gap with the big boys in the west who have owned you this year... Certainly more so than Cally who will play what 15 minutes a night? (love Cally and want him for the Sabres during off season BTW).
I just don't get the reluctance when it is highly probable that he would resign there, so he isn't really a rental.

I apologize, the last meeting was an OT loss with the goal by Ceci. Not sure what I was thinking there.
As for the trade proposals here? No. Unless the prospect coming back from the Rangers was Chris Kreider. Not worth losing Jaškin. |

Lots of Senators refusing the drop the gloves. You'd think they would realize there would be a bill to pay after they knocked the (at the time) leading goal scorer of the NHL out with a dirty hit. Maybe Reaves should just take an instigator and drop them with EK if Smith keeps refusing to go. |

Head shots actually hit people in the head. I'm talking about the hit that the only reason Smith didn't get suspended was because it wasn't clear Steen was injured when they made the decision. |

thanks for clarifying......my point stands, shattenkirk hit him in the head. showed multiple replays, all showed head was hit. |

Wasn't primary point of contact or deliberate targetting, which is what makes a hit dirty. Which is why Smith's was dirty, and Shattenkirk's wasn't. Maybe they don't learn this is the easy eastern conference, but your guy needs to keep his head up. |

Halak is terrible. We can't trade for Miller fast enough IMHO. |

As a guy who's family is from your area and has grown up hearing the unrealistic idiocy of Sbre fans I have to laugh.
We do not have a billion dollar owner willing to grossly over pay for middling players. Cally is middling because he has never scored thirty goals in a season and never even broken sixty points. He brings a lot to the game but that comes cheap in the NHL.
He wants over $6.5 million for seven years
If he becomes a free agent he will probably get it from some the teams next season who will need to get to the floor. We are spent heavily on this team with some players at the end of their deals that the GM wants to keep.
One position the Blues are not in need of is winger. They could put Stewart on waivers and not skip a beat.
We lack a great goaltender. But besides silver what has Miller ever won as a Sabers choked and choked against Ottawa as I recall.
I'd rather have a forty year old Tim Thomas. But honestly I would just like to see Jake Allen in net over either Halak or Elliott. But even more than that I would never have traded Bishop.
Anyway suck it in the cellar. Nothing like extending a young dman with only on e good season for whatw as it ten or eight years?
Do the Sabers even have enough buyouts to get rid of some of the crap on that team that has years left?
Hey so being as the Blues haven't beat anyone good in the west I guess your hometown boy plays for a crap team? No that drunk plays for the defending champs. |

Exactly. Jaskin looks like he'll score more in a full season than Callahan has scored in two seasons. |

Listen commie, we all know you think you know hockey because you are from Canada. But shoot you would think your free health care includes vision so you could get some glasses. |

How many Blues losses this season could you say that our goaltender was outplayed?
I am going to state a fact:
In the first period I watched Blues defensemen doing butterfly goaltending saves in front of Halak.
When I played hockey you only did that crazy stuff towards the end of a close game or when you did not trust your goaltender the whole game.
It is obvious his teammates do not think much of him and for good reason.
Time for Allen to show us what he's got. Or go get Thomas or someone. Forget Miller. The asking price is redonkulous. |

Health care up here actually doesn't include vision coverage. Need insurance like you poor saps do for all the rest of your health treatments.

A) Most of those politicians come from outside the city.
B) A person living in the city which has Monsanto's corporate HQ shouldn't talk about which city has bigger douche bags.
C) For a golf course, St Andrew's. Unlike certain Blues fans on this board our players have class.
D) Who's 2-0 against who this year? I've already forgotten...

Wow. I have always liked the Blues and their fans have seemed pretty decent.
But after reading your last couple of comments I see you have your share of idiots. But what should I expect from a clown dumb enough to pay money to read Eklund's made up rumors. |

Really shows you don't know hockey if you blame this loss on Halak! 3 of the 4 goals were unstoppable! 2 deflections and an amazing Sens scoring play!

Funny I saw Lehner make such saves and the Sens ended up winning. So would you say that your goaltender was better or worst than Halak? |
