Dwight King is a high return? Can you point out some examples of the kind of posts you're talking about?
- Morris

Well for instance Iggy mentioned Gagner + 1st for M Richards is over payment.

Not from you, that's why I'm not sure why you were up in my grill...

Most of that was talking about the importance of 1sts. I'd say that's what he's overvaluing if anything, that's the major component of the deal.

Not trying to be up in your grill, and maybe you're one of those guys that's lost faith in Gagner for a while, but I've just noticed a lot of people coming out of the woodworks to hate on Gagner as soon as he goes on the trade block. We've got new toys, so he's terrible. That, paired with those same people having no plan about who would replace him and assuming anybody management decides to get rid of is "addition by subtraction" gets a little tiresome.

As I say, there are legit knocks to his game and maybe those legitimately bother you.

I see a lot of people claiming Lander's done (frank) all in the NHL. This isn't wrong, but think back at who his most common linemates have been throughout his NHL career. He's been forced to play with such stalwarts as Jesse Joensuu, Lennart Petrell, Luke Gazdic, and Ben Eager! Haven't we all agreed that these players suck horse sh!t? Below NHL-quality? Show me a player that can produce with those linemates and I will personally send the Queen of (frank)ing England to your front door.

In the event of a Gagner trade, Lander has done more than enough to gain consideration for a tryout in that slot. In this scenario, MacT and Eakins would be folly to not give both Arcobello and Lander equal chances at taking that spot.

- MaximumBone

I'd give

Lander-Gordon-Hemsky
Hendricks-Smyth-Jones

a try for a few games. Hemsky seriously needs someone that's better than a non factor offensively on his line. His talent is wasted when he's on a 2 on 1 with Hendricks

And not to mention Richards does bring intangibles (two way play), but even in this "off" year for Gagner he has performed equally to Richards on the score sheet as well. As he did last season and the season before. And if Gagner is a smurf then Richards must be as well since they are the exact same size.
So yes adding this years first to Gagner is a big over payment.

I just think that he's soft and too small considering the players around him. I'm not saying there's not value there, but don't expect to get a real 2C without offering something else. I don't think a 2015 1st gets Richards so throw in Gagner and get the deal done. You're replacing him with a proven 2C that can bring what the Oil need.

Wasn't sure how Richards was doing offensively so I checked out the kings stats. Dustin Brown has 16 points! wow! he's played the whole season (57 games) too!

I'd love to have a guy like King---he's a warrior and a vet who would be valuable to the top 2 lines for a few years to come. If we could get him for Hemmer and a prospect, that'd be best.

Playing in LA hides that. He'd be crucified if he was on a Canadian team with those numbers and that contract.

How is it an "off year" for Gagner? He's got 23 pts in 45 games. That would put him on pace for 42 pts. Basically the same as every other year.

If anyone is having an "off year" it's Richards.

Gagner has comparable stats to Richards the last two years, prior to that it's not even close. Not to mention Richards plays big and is sound defensively.

And I started with 2015 1st Round pick + Gagner which I'd still do in a heartbeat.

yeah, kings are desperate for offense. only two teams in how many years that have scored less goals...buf 2013-2014 and njd 2011-2012.

Gagner's coming off an injury(1P in first 7 games back), has had some bad puck luck, and his linemate is having a struggle filled season(yak).

absolutely. Same thing with Huberdeau-minus the contract part. Both him and Yak have 21P in 53. Yak is now a monumental bust but Huberdeau has raised no negative attention

Everyone is saying Gagner is having an off year. He had 38 in 48 last yr (65 point pace). Yet most of his slow start this year was when he came back form his injury.
I think your Gagner hate is blinding you. Which I can understand. None of us are saying he's great. Kind of like I get accused of under valuing Hemsky. I cant stand him and want him gone asap....

No kidding. I can see why so many players love playing in Florida/California. Great weather and less pressure.

They dont have to believe in Gravity either but the ground is going to appear really quickly if they jump off the roof

Please, don't be telling them that. Let them find out on their own, survival of the fittest.
