Oiler fans just don't get it. Will never win with the top six now in place. Softest team in the league. I was surprised watching them last night on how uninterested that team is in finishing checks, winning battles on the walls etc. The team stops skating in thier own end which creates pressure on the slow and less than physical defense. I was expecting them to be miles ahead of the lowly Sabres. You need a GM with the courage to turn the team upside down and replace the "skill" with "compete".

Lander has played like dog dodo in the NHL to date.

His AHL numbers say there is a player there but he has yet to figure out how to transfer any of that to the NHL as of yet.

Right now Lander = NHL bust.

We will give him some more opportunities I think before trading or giving up on him but second line duties seem extremely far fetched right now. His upside may be a 3rd line center in his peak 5 years from now.

If we trade gagner it doesn't hurt to try in the last 25 games. He was rushed to ghe NHL and Europeans take a bit longer to come around. He's also bigger than gagner and Arco.

I'd rather give Arco the chance at this point. He has proven that he can play in the top 6 earlier in the year. I'd at the very least see if you can boost his value going into the off-season.

Not really, it shows that Hall produces about 3 more shot attempts per 20 minutes of ice (that's actually a lot) but that they are both giving up roughly the same amount of shot attempts against.

Just because I don't think every Oiler is great? I'm realistic. Lander got to play with the top 6 last year for a bit and didn't fit. Has he developed a bunch since? maybe. I have seen nothing from him to believe he is a fit. That's called being realistic...

We need to get a quality 2C that can contribute other than the smurf Gagner. Richards is ideal in that he hits, plays big, is skilled, and can kill penalties.

Well i personally think that you're overly pessimistic. You probably thought marincin was barely (AHL) top pairing capable last month. I bet if i back read id find it to be a fact.

Lander produces well at the AHL level and he absolutely deserves a shot if gagner is traded for a dman. Arco and Lander should see 10-15 games each to judge their progress. Same goes for Klef and Fedun. Belov, larsen and Nutlz are atrocious.

However, I do agree that landers footspeed needs work. But he competes hard and has a contract to earn. let him get after it

At some point management has to take a risk on someone. Mike Richards can contribute WAY more than Smurf Gagner can. What good is another 1st Round pick in 2015? Unless they finish dead last AGAIN and pick McDavid (highly unlikely) then there's no reason to hold onto that pick.
