He can be any of those things; he's a really talented player. For whatever reason he, along with many other Canucks, is having a down year for a variety of reasons.
He can hit, he's got a lose canon of a shot, he's a great skater, etc etc. Just seems to be lost under this coaching staff? - LeftCoaster
Okay I wish the leafs would acquire another top 4 dman. Bieksa available? |

Maybe Edler would be best under AV in New York? Who could they send back? |

No - he retires a Canuck
Deals between the Leafs and the Canucks are not allowed, can't think of any in recent memory either??? |

Problem with trading with the wings for prospects is they trick us into thinking they are good and wind up being poop like Leino and Matthias. Have the Wings ever traded a prospect that became really good on another team? I can't think of one. - Scooby_Doo
Wouldn't that be a compliment to the Red Wings? That the players they trade away don't amount to much and the ones they keep generally turn out well? |

Was thinking the same thing... It's more about their process. |

Booth was the only one with any gas left because of all the benchings and healthy scratches. They can say all they want to the media about changing the personel of the team, but if they truly want to get the attention of the players, they need to start scratching members of the core group for their poor play (those who they aren't showcasing as trade bait, of course ) - Chest Rockwell
(frank)ing Burrows comes to mind
I thought Raymond was bad.................... |

David Pratt on The team right now is saying he's hearing Edler is going to Detroit in a trade and will likely be gone before the olympic break.
Not sure who his sources are. But I hope its true. - vancity787

Sad state of affairs in Van City.
Team looks tired and disinterested. I watch 2 periods last night and saw 2 scoring chances by the Nucks. They can't get anything to the net, lose puck battles, can't shoot, can't cycle....
I don't have answers, just amazed that Torts can't coach any offense out of these guys. I guess AV might have known what he was doing?
Bandwagon is emptying at an alarming rate. |

No to Ferraro as one of the main pieces. I'd take Mantha/Tatat/Sheahan over him. |

Yeah, but if you get Nyquist , you're not going to pry Tatar or Mantha or Sheahan as well.
Likely get one current roster players and a prospect or pick....Hopefully. |

If Detroit offers Nyquist and Ferraro then I'd look elsewhere personally. |

What blows my mind is that everyone except the Sedins are available for trade. My current no touch clause would be Tanev Kassian COrrado Kesler Lack.I would strongly consider Sestito and Lain also seeing we need to be bigger younger.
This team has soft leadership. I forget who said it in the last blog but be real ,are the Sedins Torts type players?
I think Kesler would be one hell of a player if he was playing with a winger like Simmonds or Kane. This team has little forechecking and very soft on the puck . Oh yeah they are getting very old too.
Torts said it best this team is slow.
Daniel is turning out quick lye to being the next Gomez , Heatly deal. |

As you know Canucks aren't in much of a position to be demanding much. |

If you guys won't take Garbage Dump Kyle Quincey then you can have either:
A) Kindl, Andersson, Mantha, and a 3rd.
or
B) Smith, Bertuzzi/Cleary, Mantha, and a 2nd. |

I'd take Quincey for the rest of this year as a dump if it meant getting a better return. |

Even if the Sedins were traded, they'd insist on being traded as a pair which would severely limit the teams able to take on $14m in cap.
I'm sure some teams would clear room, but I'd be genuinely curious to see if any teams have made offers this season for the Sedins and what those offers were. It's tough to gauge their valuation. |
