Maybe because it's only been one season, and a very short one at that, where his injuries have clearly affected his abilities.

That and the fact that he's probably the hardest worker on the team and contributes in so many other areas other than scoring.

I think your being overly rough on burrows he's had some injuries this year but for most part has been a pretty consistent performer and very good at agitating other players. I agree with fosco he brings more then just points to the team.

Booth has been useless for nearly his entire tenure as a Canuck.

Burrows is arguably the best defensive forward and PKer on the team, along with Kesler, and is the most willing to go to dirty areas and put his body on the line.

I really think you've got to be joking about this Burrows/Booth comparison. It's not even close who's more useful to the team, even just this season...

Agreed. Overpaid yes but not useless. He is getting old and has been the heart of the team in years past, but everything has an expirery date

You'd feel the same way about Callahan after 2/3 years as you do about the current forward group right now. Brendan Morrow plays(played) a similar game and declined at 31, he was also 10+ pounds bigger than Callahan. Callahan turns 29 before July and wants 6 years.....no (frank)ing thanks.

Yeah, I was more just referring to the Callahan-VAN rumours/speculation we'll likely be hearing about if he's still unsigned by the end of the regular season. I hope Gillis is smarter than that and doesn't get convinced by Torts to take that plunge. A 6 or 7 year deal at 6 million per would be a disaster.
