So basically you'll do the equivalent of a second Ference signing and that will fix your d issues, ok. - S Kaspar Rollins
After looking at this list (specifically D) i'm wondering what's going to happen with Matt Niskanen in Pitts. Makes 2.3 mill. He's going to want close to 5 after his play this year. Does Pitts give him it or does he walk? Is that not a good potential FA for Edm to go after?
Just a thought |

I feel a BIG trade coming this year. Mac T is goung to seperate himself from Tambo and make good on his promise to make bold moves. I see a BIG name d man comingnour way. Problem is Mac will give up more than y'all think he should, and than everyone will be calling for his head more than you are now. Think Buff from the peg or Seabrook. The price will be very high, maybe Yak and our pick or maybe names like Nurse or Klefbom. Buckle up! Thoughts? |

I would welcome almost any move that would bring in a Byfuglien... not sure about Seabrook though. |

NYI for Miller?
The would've made A LOT of sense earlier in the season, but now?
There's 12points out of a spot, and have to jump like 5-6 teams...
And I can't see any way Miller would extend there?
That doesn't make much sense to me
StLouis, Washington & Minnesota seem the most likely to me
I think he'd re-sign in Minnesota too (Pominville, Suter, Parise)
And it would likely assure them of getting Vanek in the offseason as well - jdfitz77
And how exactly would the Wild pay for this hypothetical All Star laden team? |

Nope. It's always nice to be able to either agree, or at least relate to and or understand someone elses opinions or takes without resorting to name calling and the old "I'm right and your wrong" sagas that go on here.
I'm kind of a closet Oilers fan, so that helps to. - MnGump
Very foreign to see someone agree with me on this site. Usually just spirals from logic into name calling into someone giving up.

Niskanen is a guy a like but is also redundant in EDM with Petry-J Schultz on the right side. If EDM put J Schultz in a deal for a top 3D or 2C I'd definitely go after Niskanen |

Well they'd obviously have to make some moves, Heatleys fat salary would be replaced by Vaneks, not sure Callahan would come here unless he's willing to stay at around $5.5 million per. Koivu would most likely be the odd man out in order to consider any scenario like this. Koivu is making over $6.5 million per year so if he were traded, plenty of room to bring in a guy like Callahan.
Plus Cap going up as well. |

Koivu is your best center. He's not going anywhere, even if Leipold is a gigantic hypocrite. |

I love Koivu. Please send him to EDM. I'd definitely keep him over Callahan. Callahan should be getting just under 5M. Not 6+ like he's apparently looking for. |

We as NYR fans would be ok with 6 million, but he wants closer to 7. |

I will believe it when I see it. You have had Miller traded atleast 5 times already this season and yet he is still in Buffalo. |

u mean like how in the last few years we've drafted nurse? or klefbom? or gernat? or marincin?
and let's not even get into how desirable a place Edmonton is for big name free agent dmen
which dman should we have picked before hall?
maybe Larsson over nuge????!!!!
the only one that anyone could really make a case for is murray over yaks. but even then, murray was out for all of last year and he'd be getting thrown to the wolves if he was with us this year. he wouldn't be helping us much
easy solutions and myths that have become fact.
gotta love hockeybuzz!! - hugefemale dog77
You are right...gotta love HB
How about drafting a D man earlier rather than O first. How about using the 1st overall as trade-bait...trade back a few, grab a roster D-man then draft another.. Get creative...it happens, just cause you have the first doesn't mean you have to keep it. Good lord! Lookup Insanity, Einstein. |

Detroit could really use a guy like Vanek. But he'd come at a hefty price tag and we'd have to clear space or have have some more of his cap hit held. |

There is always the UFA possibility.
I wouldn't trade many assets for a pending UFA. |

This is wrong! I misheard this bit as I just came in on the tail end of it. Nanne was responding to the speculation on the radio show host question regarding the sporting news speculation that Vanek and Miller were going to Minny in a trade. He said he highly doubted The Wild would peruse him this season if he really wants to come here next off season and in regards to the Miller speculation Nanne said "that's ludicrous!" |
