Oh.... Coburn, Simmonds, Flyers 1 for Hemsky, Yakupov, Edm 1.
- youarewrong

Per the Flyers current makeup:

Coburn > Hemsky
Simmonds > Yakupov
Phi 1 < Edm1

So no thanxxxxxxxx

His gap coverage is impressive.

I feel like Hemsky is the proverbial booger that Edmonton has been trying to wipe off on the rest of the league for awhile now.

It wont be long before Yakupov will be better then Simmonds... I mean the kid only has little more then 1 season under his belt... and a top overall pick... plus you get another lottery top pick.... trade would end up being Yakupov and Ekblad for simmonds, Coburn, and some guy around 15 in this draft....

When defending Nik Grossmann, the absolute last name you want to bring up is Douglas Murray, just sayin'.

As for your links, I've got Google bookmarked too, but thanks anyway.

The article was not intended to defend Grossmann. It was intended to reinforce my opinion that analytics need to be used in the correct context.

I think Carter's kicked in for 12/13.

Both Richards and Carter's movement clauses were eliminated when they were traded.

You really put A LOT of stock in young players. You seem, to me, to sometimes treat potential like levels that are reached 100% of the time. Yakupov COULD be the next Ovechkin, or he COULD be the next Zherdev.

So you're giving up our team's top power forward/goal scorer who's locked up at a great rate for 4 more years and our best (current) defenseman signed past this season for a young one-dimensional player and the chance (no assurance) to draft a defenseman who may/may not be good in the NHL? No thank you sir.

And Simmonds is only like +0.6. I guess that means Yakupov is having a better year than Simmonds.

Buy low.

If he had 40 points and a +10 we wouldn't stand a chance at getting the guy who broke many of stammer's sarna records.

I thought yak's scouting reports were pretty positive regarding defense. I think the +/- is more to do with Edmonton than anything else. The kid could use some motivation and confidence. Jmo.

No more then you guys do with Schenn, Laughton, and Couturier.... I mean there are people in here saying you dont trade Couturier for ANYONE.... I mean come on. Besides, there are very few forwards that go 1 overall that dont go on to have all-star careers... maybe 2 in the last 20 years...
