thanks. i thought it would be relevant here. for obvious reasons.
- Briere

Indeed it is. And although he lived a full life, it is always sad to watch a light go out.

Not everyone who visits these threads feels compelled to comment ad nauseum.

You aren't the maitre'd here, so you don't need to watch the door.

yes it is. i actually had some dealings with mr allen many years ago. he was a classy, friendly man. he is one of ,or the main reason, we drafted Bob Clarke.

Sad news about Keith the Thief. He will surely be remembered as an all time Flyers great.

Sad news also about the inappropriate and shallow comments I've read.

Got anything realistic ?
- ob18

It was more in reference to valuing Couturier to this year's draft. It wasn't meant to be a realistic option.

I feel they're better off keeping him. He's a nice option if an injury occurs. They are in the playoff hunt.

They shouldn't be sellers unless they fall out of contention.

Colorado will be in a 3rd game in 4 nights when we get them. Playing the devils and now the rangers tonight. Hopefully some of their speed is zapped.

I'd consider it, especially if they aren't keeping him. But I'd do it more so if it started as a 4th or 5th rounder but improved to as good as a 2nd depending on how far a team advances.

You could get a similar player in Sam Reinhart who has much better offensive potential.

That's of course if somebody wants him over Aaron Ekblad

That would interest me. A conditional pick would be a happy medium for both teams.

You think Reinhart has the defensive capabilities of Couturier?

He does it now at the junior level, should he be asked to do it at the NHL level will depend on the team who selects him.

If they plan to keep him then obviously you don't look to move him unless given a good offer.

Really sad to read of the passing of Keith "The Thief" Allen. Legendary Flyers GM built the Broad Street Bullies and had a huge role in the Keenan Era teams, as well. Sad day for the Flyers.

Yeah, it is. Just a tough day. Would never have believed Keenan wouldn't have gotten one with the Flyers, and while hockey was a different sport in the 1970s, Keith Allen and those connected with the Flyers were certainly the highest compliment anyone can earn in professional sports: Winners.
