I um....yeah, I don't know what One Direction is. And what's this Justin Bieber thing all about? I only listen to rock music and lift weights.

With some talk of the ECHL and AHL, I always wondered:

How does the East Coast Hockey League have a team in Alaska?
How does the American Hockey League have teams in Canada?
Which nation is referred to in the "National" Hockey League?

I dunno, with the kind of roster turnover this team experiences from year to year, the picture could change in a hurry. I do agree that if Akeson blossoms, chances are very high it'll probably be elsewhere.

That big year came as an overager. He was definitely a bit of a late-bloomer.

He did have pretty good production prior to that outstanding overage year...80 pts in 65 games, good for 16th in the league and ahead of guys like Henrique, Toffoli...he also had a respectable 64 pts (in 56 games) in the prior season...so it's not like he was only dominating primarily due to his age.

As you alluded to, the kid has produced at every level, even when he got a small taste of NHL action...I feel very strongly that you have to give prospect like that a chance to show you whether or not he can or can't hack it at the NHL level before you decide to part ways or to relegate him to permanent spot in the minors. I think Akeson's skills and hockey sense are very high and it woudl behoove the Flyers to get him into the mix with the big club before too long...they have to at least see what he can (or can't) do there.

Bieber I've heard of. Sadly. No idea who One Direction is. Likely that's a good thing as poopty/poppy/trendy/bad/stupid entertainment has sucked enough life out of the world.

A little bit, but this team has a decent group of defensive prospects and an old Timonen.

That team had a younger Timonen (Legitimate top pairing defenseman) and one defensive prospect (Sbisa)
