Edmonton has to be right there with the Isles and Panthers for terrible management as well. |

Oh yeah, they are the model for a well run franchise. - tomburton99
in 2010, the Panthers had 10 picks in the first 99 and maybe only Bjugstad looks like he could be what was projected

I'd still take Gudbranson over Mcilrath but Gradbranson is not looking like the player he was hyped to be. |

maybe not as hyped, but he's going to be an elite player. arguably already is, just doesn't get the respect or recognition he deserves because he plays for florida and the rest of the team sucks. |

The Islanders at least have balancing in their prospect pool. The Oilers are all offense and Nurse. The Panthers are just terrible. Lucky that Huberdeau and Barkov fell into their laps. |

really? maybe i'm off on my assessment of him. i've always thought he's a great defenseman that doesn't get a lot of hype similar to EJ in colorado and hedman in tampa...they won't hit their projected ceilings from their drafts, but they are gonna be legitimate top-pairing dmen. |

Thank you for correcting my spelling. Yes Erik Gudbranson is the Panthers 3rd overall pick from 2010. But you don't even know who Anthony Duclair is so let's take the good with the bad ok. |

He's got a lot of developing to do. He's got tools for sure, but I wouldn't predict greatness whatsoever for him

I've been a Pens fan since I was 8/9 yrs old in the early 90's. I know how lucky we are to have players like Malkin and Crosby. Some fans go their entire life without seeing one player of the caliber and i've been lucky enough to see 4 (Mario, Jagr, Crosby, Malkin).
Still, I think GM's should view their team less as an entertainment complex and more as a business. Sometimes that means facing a hard truth that you have to step back, re-capitalize, and then make a big push forward. Losing a Top-4 Dman playing 22min/night and your Captain for nothing is just too rough for my blood. I believe very strongly in a GM always needing to be smart in asset management, no matter what. Losing Callahan and Girdardi for nothing would be terrible asset management in my opinion. - s0rcerer1984
Youre very fortunate and I understand your point and its well taken, but one cup in 74 years makes for impatient and frustrated fans where any year in which a cup run is even a possibility cannot be sacrificed and dealing Callahan may not even sacrifice a run but it feels like it will. Your point is well taken and understood when the heart is removed, but I think they might have said to themselves, at worst they have to choose 2 of Callahan, Girardi, and Staal...unless there is a way to fit all 3 under the cup and continue to build... |

The next big thing thats going to hit Broadway, so they are saying...we'll see...he is ripping the Q to pieces offensively, but I'm not sure what that means. I know the Rangers have signed him to his ELC already so he may be an option as early as Late March early April... |
